28 November 2012 3:14 AM, PST | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Have you heard the news about Disney which artists plan to re-imagine the magic and style of the classic Princesses, Cinderella? Oh, yep, and Cate Blanchett is reportedly in negotiations for the new adaptation.

First announced in 2010 and dubbed ‘Untitled Cinderella Story’ at this early stage, the live-action project is set to be directed by Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go) from a script by Chris Weitz (About a Boy).

Actually, Blanchett would be the first casting addition in the film as the evil stepmother. Aline Brosh McKenna, who adapted The Devil Wears Prada to the big screen, wrote the initial draft of the script. The studio picked up her pitch in 2010, but plot details were being kept guarded.

Amanda Seyfried was rumored to be of interest to play the girl with the glass slippers, but she has stayed quiet on the matter .

Universal Pictures is also hoping to reboot »
