Her short stories appeared in The New Yorker, Colliers, Harper's and McCall's over a period of forty years. Most dealt with suburban life in mid-20th century Durham, North Carolina. Anthologies were released in 1955 ('A Piece of Luck') and in 1969 ('28n Stories'). Her best-known novel, 'Good Morning, Miss Dove', was an extension of a short story initially published in Ladies' Home Journal.
