Washington, May 24: Hayden Panettiere wears sun protection under her make-up every day because she fear getting skin cancer.
"I make sure that I put sunscreen on under my make-up, or just by itself, no matter where I am going," Contactmusic quoted the 22-year-old actress as telling People.com.
"It's actually interesting because I realised that even high SPFs ... if you don't reapply, you're not going to get the same kind of coverage.. »

Veteran writer-producer Jim Parriott has come on board ABC’s high-profile new drama series Nashville as executive producer/showrunner. The series, from Lionsgate TV and ABC Studios, is a family soap set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene that follows one star at her peak (Connie Britton) and one on the rise (Hayden Panettiere). On the show, which landed the Wednesday 10 Pm slot on the fall schedule, Parriott will serve as an executive producer alongside creator Callie Khouri, the pilot’s director R.J. Cutler and Steve Buchanan. Parriott most recently executive the ABC/ABC Family series Missing. His Ep credits also include Covert Affairs, Sons Of Anarchy and Defying Gravity. »

Terry O'Quinn as Gavin Doran in "666 Park Avenue" (ABC/Andrew Eccles)
ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.
Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.
It’s tricky to get a solid feel »

Every May, the major networks come to New York City with footage from the shows they've ordered for fall and a U-haul filled with booze as they try and tempt advertisers to buy airtime on their channel. This not only allows ad sales folk to rub elbows with the stars but also serves as the first time anyone gets to see snippets from all the new fall pilots!

And I did the legwork this year, hitting up every network presentation to find out which warrant a spot on your DVR and which should be avoided like the plague.
What follows are the 10 Most Promising Network Pilots (while TNT, USA and MTV each have shows that deserve spots on this list, we're keeping things to the big 5). And while previous years have revealed prevailing thematic trends, the only consistent thing this week was that most of the networks saved the »

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third one announced. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC.
An odd year for the once mighty juggernaut which can still pack 'em in. It had surprise success stories with "Once Upon a Time" and "Revenge", the latter becoming an unexpected international hit, and several shows have gotten renewals despite more modest numbers. Still, with it battling with NBC for the third and fourth position overall, the network has to introduce ten shows over the course of the season in the hope of getting a few stickers.
Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen include the fashion label dynasty soap "Americana", ABC's update of the 90's "Beauty and the Beast" TV series, the Roland Emmerich-produced thriller "Dark Horse", the »

We’re going to leave it up to the pundits to predict which of the many new shows presented at this week’s network upfronts will rise to the top come fall TV season. All we know is, we may have re-watched the clip of Stephen Amell doing pull-ups in the CW’s Arrow about 10 times this morning. (Sorry, lost count.) Point is, there are a whole lot of new faces for us to ogle — and about as many returning ones we’ve been longing for — on the schedules that were announced this week.

What the hell is going on at 666 Park Avenue (ABC’s new drama)? We can only tell that Vanessa Williams is still devilishly hot, and Dave Annable and Rachael Taylor have the kind of sex appeal that might entice us to sell our souls too. We are squealing with delight at the return of Felicity boys »

Hayden Panettiere sure knows how to turn heads.
The pint-size stunner stepped out at the Entertainment Weekly & ABC-tv Up Front VIP party in New York City, rocking a tight red-and-black minidress with a plunging neckline. But soon Panettiere will have to trade her city-chic look for something a little more country.
The "Heroes" actress will be joining former "Friday Night Lights" actress Connie Britton in the new music-heavy ABC drama "Nashville."
"I've always loved country music, but when you're from New York, people are like, 'Country music? Where's the connection there?'" Panettiere tells E! Online of her new role.
The blond beauty will show off her vocals in the forthcoming series, but this won't be the first time we get a taste of her talent. In 1999, Panettiere was nominated for a Grammy for her song in "A Bug's Life," "Read-Along."

Connie Britton is coming back to TV, y'all! And not only is she starring in ABC's new Nashville, which is a family drama involving politics and country music, she's singing in it, too! With the big reveal of CBS' 2012-2013 primetime schedule, all of the major networks have revealed which of their current shows will be back in the fall and which ones are being sent to the television graveyard as well as which pilots will be premiering this fall.
We have to say, we're pretty pleased with how things panned out. After a tense, touch-and-go couple of days "Parks and Recreation" and "Happy Endings" got their expected pick-ups, and favorites "Modern Family" and "30 Rock," albeit for a truncated final season, will also be back when the leaves start to turn.
(We're not exactly in love with the idea of two cycles of "The Voice" – part of that show's appeal was that it was neither overextended nor played out and a non-stop, yearlong run puts that in danger – but we'll deal.)
We've also got Louis C.K.'s brilliant "Louie" returning to FX in June, »

The upfront presentations and parties continue to roll on in New York City, with ABC stars -- including a svelte Kelly Clarkson and, well, Hayden Panettiere's cleavage -- in the spotlight on Tuesday night! The original "American Idol" winner hit the red carpet with Robin Thicke and John Legend to celebrate their new singing competition series "Duets," which premieres on May 24. Kelly looked fit and fabulous in a curve-hugging floral print dress, sandals and chunky bangs. 22-year-old Hayden was on hand to support her new fall drama "Nashville," in which she plays an up-and-coming country singer who isn't exactly the nicest girl in the world -- and who relies on her cleavage to get her by. Hmm, life imitating art? The former "Heroes" star flaunted her assets in a brazen red vintage Moschino Couture dress and matching lips. Some of the other ABC stars who turned up to celebrate »

Near the bottom of the network heap, ABC's new lineup is heavy on big stars but seems light on groundbreakingly good scripts
ABC was the third of the big four networks to present its roster of new shows to advertisers this week. Here's our guide to the potential hits and misses.
What ABC needs
ABC is good at creating buzz around its shows, which often makes it seem that the network is doing better than it is. In fact, ABC was easily beaten into third place in the ratings last year, and if you count the Super Bowl ratings (which I always think is a little unfair as it skews things) then it finished fourth behind NBC.
On the surface there's no clear reason for this – ABC had one of last year's most talked-about new shows, Revenge, and the season's only real breakout hit, Once Upon A Time. It has America's biggest comedy, »

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo playerThe upfront media caravan, loaded with cameras, camels and expectations, moved onto ABC's presentation in Manhattan Tuesday afternoon. The network heads into fall with several concerns: Dancing with the Stars has been registering fewer happy feet in the ratings - Jimmy Kimmel, in his annual standup appearance, suggested the only way you'll see stars on the show is if you bang your head - and Desperate Housewives, a long-running signature hit, just ended Sunday. Well, Paul Lee, president of the ABC Entertainment Group, quickly addressed those points on Tuesday afternoon: Revenge, which is as perfect as a primetime melodrama can be, »

The annual upfront presentations continue in New York this week as the networks showcase their new and returning shows for the media and advertisers. Two shows that have definitely caught our eye are ABC's "666 Park Avenue" and "Nashville!"Take the actor (Terry O'Quinn) who played the most fantastically complex character on "Lost," pair him with the actress (Vanessa Williams) who played deliciously evil Wilhelmina Slater on "Ugly Betty," make them the owners of a seemingly haunted apartment building in New York City, and what do you get? Only the sure-to-be-a-hit new supernatural drama "666 Park Avenue." Click below to watch the full trailer for the show which also stars Dave Annable and Rachael Taylor as the building's new managers who fall prey to the couple's devious ways. So good!Up next, Connie Britton can do no wrong in our eyes, so we can't wait to see her drama "Nashville!" Starring as famous country superstar Rayna James, »

ABC announced their Fall 2012 schedule this afternoon, and followed up with trailers for the 10 new series. We'll start with the dramas: 666 Park Avenue - Terry O'Quinn stars as the manager of The Drake, an apartment building that offers the ultimate luxury yet "maintains a dark hold over all of its residents." Last Resort - This is the latest tense thriller from Shawn Ryan, who created The Shield. After the captain (Andre Braugher) and commanding officer (Scott Speedman) of a submarine defy firing orders, they flee with the sub's patrons to find refuge at an exotic island. Nashville - The country music drama centers on an aging legend (Connie Britton) who must deal with a scheming young talent (Hayden Panettiere). Mistresses - Alyssa Milano toplines the soap about the "scandalous lives of a sexy and sassy group of four girlfriends." Red Widow - After her husband is brutally murdered, Marta Walraven »

ABC's new comedies may look all kinds of sketchy, but their new dramas are looking all kinds of buzzy. Sunday night supernatural soap "666 Park Avenue" already has devilishly good guilty pleasure potential, and the network's other two fall dramas boast quality casts and strong pedigrees. "Nashville" (premiering Wednesdays at 10 p.m.) keeps Connie Britton on TV following five seasons on "Friday Night Lights" and one on "American Horror Story," casting her as a fading country music star facing off with a younger rival ("Heroes" cheerleader Hayden Panettiere). It's written by "Thelma & Louise" Oscar winner Callie Khouri and directed by »

ABC's drama lineup for the 2012-2013 season is nothing short of ambitious. While it's hard to tell whether every show will succeed, there's one person who should be commended -- whoever edits the trailers for these things. Way to make the supernaturally creepy "666 Park Avenue" stick in our heads long before its fall premiere date. "Nashville's" soapy, serialized "Country Strong"-esque storyline could not seem more action-packed -- and this is all footage from the first episode.
Color us extremely impressed, except with a deplorable-looking Americanization of the British drama "Mistresses." Check out our first impressions of the network's new dramas below:
"666 Park Avenue"
Sundays, 10 p.m.
ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee calls "666 Park Avenue" an "utterly brilliant drama" that's "as delicious as its lead-in," "Revenge." Although it starts with a relatively common horror movie trope -- an innocent couple doesn't know what they're getting into -- the trailer strikes »
