Eugene Pallette products
Gargantuan-bellied, frog-voiced character actor who was a staple in forties movies. After World War II his ultra-right-wing political views fuelled his 'bomb' paranoia and he bought a property in Oregon which he turned into a well-stocked compound in case the Russians attacked. Many of his old Hollywood friends, including Clark Gable, visited him there (some came to hunt and fish) but the property was later sold.

He was best remembered for his distinctive voice which was often described as "froggy." He actually started his acting career in the silent period with over 130 silent films to his credit.
During the silent era, Palette was a handsome and athletic lead and second lead who was frequently cast in adventures or epics, including those directed by D.W. Griffith and Cecile B. DeMille. He had already gained a tremendous amount of weight by the late 1920s, and started to segue into character roles and comedy bits, and his gravelly, bullfrog voice proved a tremendous asset in helping him to land such parts with the advent of sound.
