So adult Simon is in the middle of a job interview, and he mistakes the interviewer for an American, and can I just say? I love it when British actors imitate American accents (and jargon)! I live here, and even I can tell that, yes, we do sound just that ridiculous.
Almost immediately, the show gives us another hilarious bit of classic, British Beautiful People humor: Debbie exercising to Fit Farka, a burqa-garbed TV fitness guru (“She’s got very beguiling eyes!” Debbie says).
Politically incorrect much?
Simon, meanwhile, is distraught over his family’s lack of a water feature in their backyard. If you watch this show, you know that, yes, this makes perfect sense. Somehow this leads to Simon imagining himself singing “Enough is Enough” in a duet with “the first lady of musical theatre, Eileen Page.” Again, if you watch this show, you know that this also makes perfect sense.
