Comic-Con: 'Game Of Thrones' panel

21 July 2017 2:44 PM, PDT | ScreenDaily | See recent ScreenDaily news »

No spoilers but plenty of laughs as cast ponders what they would do if they ruled the land in HBO fantasy series.

In what may be the biggest event at Hall H these days, stars from the HBO cult hit took part in a Q&A days on Friday afternoon moderated by Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor.

Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne) and Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) attended the panel with Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Conleth Hill (Varys), and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark).

When asked what law she would pass if she ruled the land in Game Of Thrones, Christie said: “That women could be knights!” Emmanuel said, “Education for everyone.”

“Maesters have to clean up their own stinking mess,” said Bradley, in reference to the hilarious montage in Episode 1 of Season 7 where his character Samwell Tarley is seen retching as he cleans »

‘Game of Thrones’ at Comic-Con: No Direwolves, But Theon Brings a Puppy

Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy on the HBO mega-hit “Game of Thrones,” showed up at the big Hall H “Game of Thrones” panel at San Diego Comic-Con with quite a gimmick: a totally precious little puppy, which he just held in his lap the whole time. That’s the whole story here. Theon brought a puppy to Comic-Con and nobody could keep themselves from tweeting out pictures (including me). What do you have a better way of distracting a massive audience of rabid fans with a million questions about the show? The panelists, who aren’t allowed to say anything about the. »

Game of Thrones: Season Seven Ratings

18 July 2017 2:55 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Last year, after creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss announced their plan to end Game of Thrones with its eighth season, HBO programming boss Casey Bloys confirmed that would be indeed the end. There's no need to worry that the show will be cancelled so, why track the ratings? Well, it's fun. It keeps us off the street. And most of all, it's a high water mark against which we can measure the success of other HBO TV series. Based on A Song of Ice and Fire, the best-selling George R.R. ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7: All the Clues the Cast Could Tease Without Revealing Major Spoilers

Forget “Here Be Dragons.” Any “Game of Thrones” story should be equipped with the warning, “Here Be Spoilers.”

HBO’s fantasy drama requires all plot details be kept on tight lockdown due to its penchant for killing off main characters, the numerous betrayals and the occasional maiming. Jake Busey is playing the son of Gary Busey’s Predator 2 character in The Predator

Although Arnold Schwarzenegger rejected the opportunity to reprise his role as Dutch from Predator for Shane Black’s upcoming sequel, it seems The Predator will have at least one connection to earlier movies, as Jake Busey has revealed that he is playing the son of Gary Busey’s Predator 2 character, special agent Peter Keyes.

““[Shane Black] called me and he said ‘Hey, you wanna do this movie? We don’t have money for you but it’ll be a fun thing to come play and be your father’s son,’” Busey told The Red Booth. “And so as much as I have followed in my Dad’s footsteps career-wise, this is like really following in his footsteps by playing a character who is the son of the character he played. And I don’t think there would be any other forum where I would do that. I think this is the one thing. »

How The Predator Reboot Connects Directly to Predator 2

26 June 2017 6:37 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Ever since writer-director Shane Black boarded 20th Century Fox's new film The Predator, the filmmaker has stated that it is not a reboot or a remake, and today we have even more proof that is the case. One of The Predator stars, Jake Busey, revealed in a new interview that his character actually has a connection to the original Predator movies, confirming that it continues the timeline set up in 1987's The Predator and 1990's The Predator 2. This connection is also with his own family, since he plays the son of Peter Keyes, the character his father, Gary Busey, played in Predator 2.

The actor made this revelation during an interview with The Red Booth, where he stated that writer-director Shane Black had told him right away that he'd be playing the son of his father's character from Predator 2. In that sequel, Peter Keyes was DEA Special Agent Peter Keyes, »

The second full trailer dropped for Season 7 on Wednesday, and to be honest, we couldn’t stop watching it. It should be noted it also sounded great because of the song, “Light of the Seven,” which is part of last season’s score by theme song composer Ramin D Jawadi. As we pored over each frame, a few thoughts came to light, as if the Red God illuminated our way:

Jon Snow Wants to Bury the Hatchet

The King in the North knows that another battle is coming, and it’s not necessarily for the Iron Throne. With the Night’s King leading the White Walkers southward, this will be a threat to every person regardless of House alliance. In the trailer we can hear Jon Snow (Kit Harington) making a plea and warning to someone, perhaps Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), whom we see has touched down on Dragonstone. “For centuries our families fought together against their common enemy, despite their differences together,” he says. “We need to do the same if we’re going to survive because the enemy is real. It’s always been real.” Fortunately, he has one of the best advisers by his side, Davos Seaworthy (Liam Cunningham). As for Dany, as we saw last season, she has some new allies: Yara (Gemma Whelan) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). They no doubt helped her on her journey over the water, and will be invaluable when it comes to how this world works. She may believe she’s the rightful queen, but she hasn’t built up any goodwill with the Westerosi yet.

But He May Have a New Enemy

While Jon Snow is busy fighting off White Walkers and forging new alliances, Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) is whispering in Sansa’s (Sophie Turner) ear. “Don’t fight in the north or the south. Fight every battle, everywhere, always in your mind,” he advises while skulking in the shadows. Later, Sansa’s own words don’t sound like solidarity with her half-brother (but really cousin) at all: “When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.” This may sound like Sansa is about to stab him in the back for the greater good, and we really hope this isn’t true (although Sansa didn’t seem to pleased when he was hailed as King in the North last season). What gives us hope is that this is only part of a bigger quote that Ned Stark (Rip) had told his daughter Arya (Maisie Williams). The rest plays out as such: “Summer is the time for squabbles. In winter, we must protect one another, keep each other warm, share our strengths. So if you must hate, Arya, hate those who would truly do us harm.” Let’s just hope that Ned also taught this lesson to Sansa.

Much Dragon. So Toothy

Daenerys has brought her babies to war with her, and they seem right at home flying alongside the Dothraki and breathing fearsome fire. Last we saw though, Dany hadn’t quite figured out how to control them, so how will they know who’s friend or foe? For that matter, is that something or someone in his teeth? Please note the difference between this photo (4 out of 5 Valyrian dentists agree that fire fights plaque) and the one at the top of the story.

Bran May Be Waging War by Warging

This may be completely due to the magic of trailer editing but it certainly looks like Bran has warged into a raven that is flying overhead and has caught the attention of the Night’s King who glances up. As the one who has greensight and the best connection to the old magics, Bran is a key player when it comes to opposing these ancient enemies. And hey, it looks like he has a new wheelchair and mentor to help him out.

Oh Yeah, But Does Your Sword Do This?

The oft-resurrected Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) is back with his flaming sword, and he’s in the North along with The Hound (Rory McCann)… and possibly Jon Snow. While we see some flaming weapon fighting alongside Jon Snow in this scene, the hair doesn’t look the same from afar. Regardless, it appears that he’ll be fighting off the White Walkers and resurrected wights in the name of the Red God. Could this be yet another alliance? And what happens when Arya comes on the scene. After all, she has both Beric and The Hound on her hit list.

Cersei Could Have One New Ally

Remember Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek, aka the Danish Joshua Jackson)? He’s Yara and Theon’s uncle who took over Pyke and got crowned, even though he killed his own brother for it. He had intended to go to Daenerys and offer her an alliance, but since his niece and nephew beat him to it, our money is on him siding against them with Cersei (Lena Headey). He’s also a psychopath, so they should get along nicely.

And history has told us that Jaime Lannister (Nicolaj Coster-Waldau) will support his lover and sister no matter what and that he’s pissed at brother Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) for killing their father, who deserved it. Early photos also show Jaime by Cersei’s side. But history has also told us that Jaime took a stand against a mad, power-hungry tyrant that wanted to burn everyone with wildfire, which is exactly what Cersei did last season. Can he support her in this megalomania? Especially when their last remaining child committed suicide as a result? Jaime has shown some of the best character growth over the seasons, and his riding into a fiery battlefield, possibly set aflame by a dragon, could be the hint that he’s chosen his side.

Grey Worm Could Get His Big Eunuch Sex Scene

The romance between Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) and Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) has been developing over the seasons. “Game of Thrones” tends to use its sex scene for violence or character development, but could it actually try to show a pure and tender moment this season? Grey Worm also features heavily in the trailer in his new helmet and heading into battle. We hope that means that he is just getting more screen time because he’s important, not because he’s going to die (which is possible for anyone on this show, we suppose).

What else did you see in the trailer? Take another look:

The Winds Of Winter Blow Over The Walking Dead In Fun Crossover Poster

21 June 2017 4:14 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

The chilling Winds of Winter are about to whip up a storm thanks to the seventh, penultimate season of HBO’s Game of Thrones

We’re now little over three weeks away from the show’s long-anticipated return – July 16th is the date for your diaries – and earlier today we got a look at a really rather stunning new trailer, along with a dozen character posters featuring many of the key power players populating Westeros and beyond. From Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) to Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), those icy one-sheets were a pointed reminder of just how complex HBO’s fantasy saga has become, and it’s all set to come to a head over the course of 13 episodes and two truncated seasons.

Elsewhere in the TV landscape, The Walking Dead is gearing up for a similarly epic eighth season, and to piggyback on the buzz and excitement generated by Game of Thrones, the former’s official Twitter account rolled out a mock-up poster (seen below) that places Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) front and center. Winter may be here, but it seems war is just around the corner.

In related news, it would seem that those fans of Rosita (Christian Serratos) will have to hold out a little longer before Queen Ro Ro crops up in The Walking Dead season 8. As reported by Cinema Blend, the actress recently celebrated the birth of a baby girl, and will no doubt take some time off from AMC’s zombie flagship for recovery and rest. That’s not to say that Rosita will be totally absent from the show’s oncoming eighth season; rather, it’s unlikely she’ll appear until episode four or five as the network often works to accommodate each actor’s varying schedule.

There’s currently no firm date for The Walking Dead‘s return, but history tells us season 8 will likely shuffle toward the small screen in October. Game of Thrones, meanwhile, will air its seventh season on July 16th. »

12 Character Posters For Game Of Thrones Season 7 Pit The Show’s Key Players Against Death’s Emissary

21 June 2017 12:15 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Forget the summer solstice and the added chunk of daylight it brings, for winter is here! And to mark the occasion, HBO has conjured up a series of icy character posters for Game of Thrones season 7 to compliment this morning’s show-stopping trailer reveal.

There are 12 one-sheets in total, each of which features one of the show’s many power players as they stare down the face of death’s emissary, the Night King. That chilling antagonist looks set to be one of the primary villains of Game of Thrones season 7, forcing Jon Snow (Jaehaerys Targaryen?) and his northerly allies – including the fierce Lyanna Mormont – to spearhead some form of resistance against the Night King and his undead army of reanimated Wights. You know, once the warring humans of Westeros duke it out for good measure.

More From The Web Click to zoom

If you’ve been a loyal disciple of HBO’s fantasy flagship from the off, you’ll notice that the character posters hew close to tradition in that they feature extreme close-ups of Westeros’ many powers players – Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and many more – only this time around, there’s the added danger of the Night King, who can be seen staring out of each’s character’s respective pupil.

The seventh, penultimate season of Game of Thrones gallops onto the small screen on July 16th. Expect the series finale to air sometime in 2018 (?), before HBO begins exploring some form of prequel series that doesn’t involve Dunk and Egg nor Robert’s Rebellion. Those preliminary spinoffs hail from Max Borenstein (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Golden Circle) and George R.R. Martin, the founding father behind A Song of Ice and Fire, so fans can at least take solace in the fact that the franchise’s future is in safe hands. »
