After he finished school in Hässleholm, Sweden, Paul Ottosson and some friends went to Los Angeles in 1987 to become rock stars. When his friends returned home he had met a girl and decided to stay. One of his intimates got him a job in 1992 at a recording studio. He started of with some commercials and music videos to movies. In 1997 Paul won an Emmy for the episode "Rat" in the series "National Geographic Explorer" (1985). Today he has done sound for over 120 projects including S.W.A.T. (2003), The Scorpion King (2002) and Spider-Man 2 (2004).

In 1995 he entered into the movie world and since then he has been recognized for his work as a Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer with Oscar and BAFTA nominations for "Spider-Man 2". Paul won an Emmy for "Rats". In 2010 Paul won two Academy Awards for The Hurt Locker for sound editing and sound mixing, respectively.
