Mondo has released this awesome poster art for Dredd created by Jock, the artist who did lots of the story board work on the film.

Directed by Pete Travis (Vantage Point) from a script by Alex Garland with John Wagner acting as creative consultant, and starring Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Domhnall Gleeson, Langley Kirkwood, Francis Chouler and Deobia Oparei, and Lena Headey, the upcoming film is adapted from the long running comic series 2000 A.D.

The poster will be available to purchase at Fantastic Fest.

Lionsgate has released a new featurette for Dredd 3D, director Pete Travis' upcoming adaptation of the popular comic book series. Karl Urban stars as the title character, who tries to get rid of a dangerous new drug called Slo-Mo, which is being distributed by Lena Headey's Ma-Ma Madrigal. The drug makes users experience life at a fraction of its normal speed. Achieving the effects of this drug for the silver screen requires shooting with an incredibly fast frame rate, upwards of 4,000 frames per second, as opposed to the industry standard 24 Fps. Take a look at this video where Karl Urban, screenwriter Alex Garland, and several other crew members discuss what it takes to give viewers the ultimate Slo-Mo experience.

Lionsgate has launched a number of viral sites for its upcoming comic book reboot Dredd 3D. The Dredd Report (clickHere) is a parody of The Drudge Report, with headlines re-written to reflect the on-going violence in Mega City One. Lionsgate has sent over a new featurette for their upcoming sci-fi action movie Dredd starring Karl Urban as Judge Dredd and Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson.

The franchise reboot, directed by Pete Travis, follows 2000 Ad character Judge Dredd as he tries to track down a terrorist organisation headed by Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey.

The script is written by Alex Garland, who has previously worked on Sunshine, 28 Weeks Later and Never Let Me Go, and will be in no way related to Dredd’s 1995 outing.

The film also stars Wood Harris, Domhnall Gleeson, Jason Cope, Santi Scinelli, Deobia Oparei.

Dredd will open in Us theaters on September 21st, 2012.
