Actor Matthew Rhys Hopes to Direct More 'Brothers and Sisters'

10 December 2009 12:00 PM, PST | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

Matthew Rhys doesn't only convincingly portray Kevin Walker on Brothers and Sisters, he's also managed to direct a recent episode of the show.  He was responsible for handling his fellow actors on "Pregnant Pause," and was truly grateful for the experience.  Now, he says he wants more.

Rhys talked to ABC's Marika Cahn about his stint helming the episode, revealing how he came about the job and what he learned from the series' veteran director Ken Olin.  The actor did his best to absorb and apply each step, even joking about how the rest of the cast viewed him as their director. »

Brothers & Sisters Review: "Zen & the Art of Mole Making"

2 November 2009 5:50 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

As we've been reporting in our Brothers & Sisters spoilers section for weeks now, Tommy Walker (Balthazar Getty) returned to SoCal last night, and certainly made an impact.

He also made mole. Dude is totally Zen now, having lived on a vegan commune in Mexico since the last time we saw him. But you knew Nora would bring out the old Tommy.

It was only a matter of time.

Follow the link for a recap of "Zen & the Art of Mole Making." Now, some thoughts on what was vintage B&S and what could have been improved on last night's episode ...

Tommy was kind of a jerk last night, but then again when was he ever not, and his return to the Walker household rekindled old memories (good and bad) in typical fashion.

As much as he's tried to turn his life around and find himself, the guy is a total mess, »

First Look: Kevin and Scotty's Surrogate

21 October 2009 12:09 PM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

All photos credit: ABC/Eric McCandless

***Spoiler Alert*** This post contains spoilers on an upcoming episode of Brothers & Sisters.

Kevin Walker might just have something to smile about. Now that Scotty is on board with starting a family the couple are scouting for the right surrogate to carry their child.

In the November 1st episode, "Zen & the Art of Mole Making," it looks like Kevin and Scotty find the perfect candidate. And big surprise, they've met her before! The character's name is Michelle McCormack, who you might remember in Episode 1.12 as the girlfriend of closeted soap hunk Chad Berry (Jason Lewis).

That's right, the one who didn't realize Kevin was sleeping with her beau and actually tried to set Kevin and Scotty up on a blind date. (Episode 1.14)

All of this makes you wonder, is Michelle back on the scene to help them make a baby - or to exact revenge on Kevin? »

2009 Fall Preview: Brothers & Sisters 4.01

9 September 2009 9:42 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Brothers and Sisters kicks off its fourth season beginning on Sunday, September 27 and ABC has just released some details about the new season as well as some promotional photos from the first episode.

The Walkers went through a great deal last season, as we saw more dinners, more fights, and more wine drinking.  So basically Kitty and Robert are on the ropes and headed to divorce after Kitty's almost infidelity and Robert's inability to realize that he just had a heart-attack and might not need to be thinking about running for governor at the moment.  Oh, and they had their adopted surrogate baby in the middle of all of that.

Sarah floundered around a bit in the beginning of last season but finally found her place helping two young dudes develop a start-up company that became a success, but in the end her heart was with Ojai Foods and she »

Hump Day Hotness: Marital Bliss

13 May 2009 3:33 PM, PDT | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

Have you seen Vanity Fair's list of Hollywood's rarest unions: the longterm actor/actress marriage? I don't need to tell you that most Tinseltown marriages end in divorce. Yet some couple stick by each other and anyone in a long term relationship or marriage will know what a feat that often is. The immortal Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward are the longest lasting dual movie star marriage -- they were married for 50 years before Newman's death (2008, Rip). But the lengthiest dual actor marriages ever? The Reagans with 52 years and, up at the tippity top, recent Oscar nominee Ruby Dee (American Gangster) and Ossie Davis (2005, Rip) with 56 years of happily ever after.

I'm sure you've heard the famous Newman paraphrase about fidelity Why fool around with hamburger when you have steak at home? but what I loved most about their celebrated marriage was that they weren't overly sentimental about it in interviews, »

Imho "Brothers & Sisters" (3.16 & 3.17): "Troubled Waters"

2 March 2009 6:54 AM, PST | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Your regular B&S recapper Steven Frank is on a well-deserved though suspiciously timed vacation, so I'm filling in this week. Wouldn't you know it, he saddled me with a friggin' two-hour episode. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I think he planned it. Curse you Steven!

Recap after the break ... and warning: This post reveals (and mostly mocks) all of last night's plot twists.

The show begins with Nora (Sally Field) running in slow mo through the halls of a hospital. ("Run Forrest Gump's mother, run!") She rounds the corner to see Robert (Rob Lowe) getting the paddles ... and not in a fun way. He's hooked up to a heart monitor, and like this show of late he seems to have flatlined.

Cut to 24 hours earlier and it's another one of those interminable Walker family dinners where everybody is squabbling and Nora is being a fussbudget.  Robert and Kitty retreat »
