The Listener: TV Series Renewed for Season Three by CTV

As you may recall, NBC cancelled The Listener two years ago after an unsuccessful summer run. For whatever reason, the series about a young paramedic (Craig Olejnik) who has the ability to listen to people's thoughts, just didn't catch on in the United States and did poorly in the ratings.

The show is produced in Canada and, despite the lack of interest in the Us, it continues to be popular north of the border and internationally. The Listener was renewed for a second season of 13 installments in November 2009. Production didn't start until September 2010 and the episodes just recently finished airing in Canada.

Now, CTV has renewed the series for a third season of 13 episodes. According to CTV, The Listener is one of the few scripted Canadian series to average more than one million viewers each week. It showed double-digit growth »

Stars of The Listener coming to McM Expo London Comic Con

Lauren Lee Smith and Craig Olejnik, stars of supernatural crime show The Listener, are heading to the McM Expo London Comic Con later this month.

They will host a panel on the hit Canadian series - currently airing on Fox's FX channel - as well as meeting fans and signing autographs. Both are pictured above.

Olejnik plays telepathic paramedic Toby Logan, who uses his ability to hear the thoughts of others to save lives and fight crime. When Logan reveals his powers to Lauren's character, police sergeant Michelle McCluskey, she brings him on board her Integrated Investigative Bureau task force to help crack the toughest murder cases... but there's a high price to pay for having such a gift.

Lauren Lee Smith is no stranger to the world of psychics: she previously played emotion-sensing ('tele-empathic') Emma DeLauro in Mutant X.

Telepath Toby Logan returns in a second season of The Listener. Having finally come to terms with his powers, Toby has finally decided to put his gifts to good use. In the first episode, paramedic Toby (Craig Olejnik) and sidekick Oz (Ennis Esmer) save a woman from drowning, but when Toby uses his abilities to try and help her regain her memory, he discovers that she's tangled up in a web of corporate espionage and murder. »

'The Listener' Season 2 Premieres Feb. 8 On CTV

After two years of absence, the Canadian TV series The Listener will return for a second season on CTV, a Canadian TV network, on Tuesday, February 8, at 10 Pm.

In the second season, we learn that Det. Charlie Marks (Lisa Marcos) succumbed to her wounds after she had chased a criminal.

In the premiere, Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik), a paramedic from Toronto, decides to stop fighting against his telepathic gift. When he revives a woman (Rekha Sharma) who nearly drowned, Toby notices that he stumbled upon an investigation case of Sgt. Michelle McCluskey (Lauren Lee Smith), an investigator of the Rcmp.

The show will not return on NBC, an American TV network that dropped The Listener two years ago halfway through the first season. However, it will premiere on March 2011 on Fox International Channels depending on the country you live in.
