Trivia (3)

Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
Remembered for his singing of Irish ballads.
His daughter with Rita, Janet Olcott (Johnstone), was a musician as well. She was a protégé of Ignacy Paderewsky and was reputed to be the youngest performer to give a recital at New York's Town Hall. She left performing to marry Edmund F. Johnstone and raise her family. She gave Chauncey and Rita Olcott five grandchildren: Ned Johnstone (deceased), Chauncey Olcott Johnstone, Lammy Olcott Johnstone, Janet Jyll Johnstone, and Charles Thomas Johnstone. Janet Olcott Johnstone passed away on February 8, 2007.
