Ted Nugent's 'Gun Country' Off the Air at Discovery

Ted Nugent's American Guns will not return to the Discovery Channel's lineup. Whether that is a change of plans -- and if so, why -- is in dispute. The conservative rocker, who is an avid supporter of gun rights and antagonist of President Barack Obama, starred in the show Gun Country on the network in October, which featured him exploring America's "gun culture." The episode, which saw him firing machine gun rounds into bunkers among other things, garnered 864,000 viewers according to Nielsen. Nugent claimed that it was a new series -- he already had one on the Outdoor Channel, and

Ted Nugent Blasts 'Pimps, Whores and Welfare Brats' in Post-Election Twitter Spree

7 November 2012 8:34 AM, PST | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

Ted Nugent probably wasn't the life of any election party on Tuesday night. The very outspoken conservative rocker had already made waves in this election when he urged attendees of an NRA convention to behead President Obama, a remark that earned him a visit from the Secret Service. That meeting didn't much change his views on the president, though, so when Obama won re-election on Tuesday night, Nugent aired his displeasure on Twitter. "Pimps whores & welfare brats & their soulless supporters hav a president to destroy America," he wrote in his initial tweet, soon adding, "What subhuman

Ted Nugent Wonders if 'We'd Have Been Better Off if the South Had Won the Civil War'

6 July 2012 11:03 AM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

Worried about the legacy of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America, Ted Nugent is now pondering whether the world would have been better off had the Confederate States, which fought to sever the union, been victorious in the Civil War. The Detroit-born rocker and outspoken conservative activist writes in a new op-ed for The Washington Times of his fundamental fear of what he calls "Fedzilla," or a government with a social safety net. Triggered by Chief Justice John Roberts voting to uphold President Obama's Affordable Care Act -- but calling the mandate to buy insurance

Ted Nugent is a "black Jew at a Nazi-Klan rally," according to Ted Nugent

18 April 2012 10:10 AM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

The anthropomorphic 1975 Chevy Van (doors do not lock, some interior odor) known as Ted Nugent has once again said some stupid things very loudly without the added benefit of respectable guitar work, braying at last weekend’s NRA convention that President Barack Obama is “vile” and “evil,” and that if he is re-elected, “I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.” Not surprisingly, many looked at those remarks as some sort of vague threat—not unlike the somewhat less-vague threat Nugent made in 2007, when Nugent invited both Obama and “worthless bitch” Hillary Clinton »

Ted Nugent won't apologize for Obama remarks

18 April 2012 9:54 AM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Rocker Ted Nugent isn't backing down from his recent controversial comments in which he said he'd "either be dead or in jail" if President Barack Obama is reelected. In fact, he's doubling down.

During an interview with radio personality Dana Loesch on Tuesday (April 17), the "Motor City Madman" says, "There are some power-abusing, corrupt monsters in our federal government that despise me because I have the audacity to speak the truth." He adds that he feels like he's under attack for his statements saying, "I'm a black Jew at a Nazi-Klan rally."

Nugent's original remarks, which he made at an NRA conference, haven't gone unnoticed by the Secret Service. They are reportedly investigating the rocker.

The "Stranglehold" singer also decided to take on Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz after she condemned his comments.

"Wasserman Schultz is such a brain-dead, soulless idiot," Nugent says during the radio interview. "I »

Ted Nugent can't resist shooting his mouth off—especially when it comes to his feelings about Barack Obama and his administration. Appearing on conservative Dana Loesch's radio show on Tuesday, the rocker vehemently defended controversial comments he made at last weekend's National Rifle Association convention. "I'm a black Jew at a Nazi-Klan rally," Nugent told Loesch. "And there are some power-abusing, corrupt monsters in our federal government that despise me because I have the audacity to speak the truth." Ted Nugent Calls Himself 'A Black Jew at Nazi-Klan Rally,' Stands by Obama Beheading Statement (Video)

The usual political surrogate gaffe-outrage plotline involves an initial verbal fumble (of varying shades of off-coloredness), outrage from the opposing party, and then a quick apology from the initial, tangentially-connected offender. Ted Nugent, rebel rocker and personal defense enthusiast, has other plans. The platinum-selling guitarist stood by the harsh and violent, President Obama-directed speech he made at Sunday's National Rifle Association convention even as Democrats demanded that Mitt Romney, the Gop frontrunner whom Nugent endorsed last month, denounce the rocker's support. “I spoke at the NRA and I will stand by my speech. Ted Nugent has continued his criticism of Us President Barack Obama's administration amid reports of a Secret Service probe. The 'Cat Scratch Fever' singer told members of the National Rifle Association over the weekend that he would "be dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama wins re-election. He also branded the president "America-hating" and "evil". His comments prompted an official statement from a Secret Service spokesperson, who disclosed to ABC News that the organization is "conducting appropriate follow-up" on Nugent. Nugent refused to apologize for his comments while speaking on Dana Loesch's radio program on Tuesday (April 17), insisting that he's never "threatened anyone's life". Roseanne Barr to Ann Romney: 'I Call Bulls--- on Your Big Mama Story'

17 April 2012 12:56 PM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Comedian and presidential candidate Roseanne Barr doesn't buy Ann Romney's claims of being a hardworking stay-at-home mom. Democratic strategist handed Republicans a "fat political softball," in Barr's words, when she asserted last week that millionaire mother-of-five Romney had "never worked a day in her life." A slew of Republicans -- including Romney herself -- came forward to point out that motherhood is a full-time job, and accused Democrats of being anti-family. The Democratic National Committee is demanding that Gop presidential candidate Mitt Romney condemn Ted Nugent for comments that the "Cat Scratch Fever" singer made to an audience at a National Rifle Association event over the weekend. During the 2012 annual meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, on Saturday, Nugent suggested that NRA members might consider decapitation over the ballot box in the coming elections, urging them to "ride into the battlefield and chop [Democrats'] heads off in November." Ted Nugent: 'I will either be dead or in jail' if Obama re-elected

17 April 2012 10:42 AM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Rocker/gun enthusiast Ted Nugent has always been an outspoken conservative. But some recent comments the Nuge made about President Obama aren't going over so well. At a National Rifle Association convention, Nugent said, "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year."

A self-proclaimed supporter of Gop presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, Nugent also said, "Our government is wiping its a** with the Constitution."

He continued: "We've got four Supreme Court justices who don't believe in the Constitution. Does everybody here know that four of the Supreme Court justices not only determined you don't have the right to keep and bear arms, four Supreme Court justices signed their name to a declaration that Americans have no fundamental right to self-defense? That sounds like a stoned hippie. That doesn't sound like a Supreme Court anything."

In the latest battle in the ongoing war over public gaffes made by tangential campaign surrogates, Democrats are demanding that Mitt Romney denounce the support of rocker and gun enthusiast Ted Nugent after he made inflamatory, violent remarks about the party and the President at this past weekend's National Rifle Association convention. "Mitt Romney surrogate Ted Nugent made offensive comments about President Obama and November’s elections this weekend that are despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale," DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz said in a statement. "He called the Administration 'vile', ‘evil' and 'America-hating', and said much worse.

Two To Wango Tango: Mitt Romney Sought Ted Nugent’s Endorsement, Should Answer For It

17 April 2012 8:24 AM, PDT | Mediaite - TV | See recent Mediaite - TV news »

It's one of the political games people play: trying to get political figures to own something that someone else said. A particularly egregious example of this was last week's Hilary Rosen flap, when the media and the Obama administration foolishly played along. But while Rosen had no connection to the President whatsoever (and really said nothing wrong), Republican candidate Mitt Romney actively sought the endorsement of serial mouth-bomber Ted Nugent, and ought to be asked if he agrees with him. »

Using the prevailing language of the event, Ted Nugent made some bold statements and harsh battle plans for the upcoming November elections. The Essentials: The Films Of John Milius

12 April 2012 7:04 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

All those who complain about the liberal domination of Hollywood have never come across John Milius. A film school pal of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, Milius had tried to join the Marine Corp, but was turned away due to his asthma. Instead, he channeled his frustrations into both a life-long obsession with firearms (he was paid for "Jeremiah Johnson" in antique weaponry, and has served on the NRA Board of Directors) and making some of the most masculine, testosterone-filled movies of all time, both as an acclaimed writer and as a director. The basis for both Paul Le Mat's character in "American Graffiti" and Walter in "The Big Lebowski" -- the Coens are friends of Milius, and offered him the part of Jack Lipnick in "Barton Fink" -- he's one of film history's most singular, colorful characters.

He might not have had the overwhelming success of Lucas or Spielberg, »
