“No movie is without sin,” as YouTube giant Cinema Sins puts it. That’s both totally valid and, when it comes to the “Mount Rushmore” of films…debatable. Nonetheless, the guys behind the channel will continue to sin all-time classics like they’re platters at a buffet. And they’re next helping? Ridley Scott’s “Alien.”

Tearing apart much of the scientific elements and the logic of the crew, the 11-minute endeavor ends at 74 sins with not enough sins taken off for its absolute mastery. While no one, even the genius of Jeremy — the voice behind Cinema Sins — can truly tear down such a perfect film that he calls his “personal favorite horror film,” it’s impressively nerdy and just plain fun to see them try. This is a picking of the smallest of nits. »

Over the past couple of weeks Ridley Scott has given us a peek behind-the-scenes of Alien: Covenant with production photos featuring Katherine Waterston and Michael Fassbender, and now it’s the turn of Danny McBride, who is joined by the legendary director on what we presume is the Covenant spacecraft.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in Alien with Alien: Covenant, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Since before it was even officially announced, the biggest question “Alien: Covenant” had xenomorph-obsessed fans asking is whether Noomi Rapace would be reprising her “Prometheus” role. Deadline is reporting that, despite it long being said that she would not, Rapace is on the “Covenant” set in Australia.
She’s there to shoot a week’s worth of scenes for the sequel (which, given the “Alien” series’ complicated chronology, is also a prequel). Also appearing in the film is Michael Fassbender — whose character David was long thought to be the only “Prometheus” character to return — as well as Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup. “Covenant” finds the crew of the eponymous ship (everyone other than Rapace and Fassbender, essentially) discovering a planet whose sole inhabitant is David, »

While a lot of movies try to hide from fans during production, Alien: Covenant is not one of them. We've already seen plenty from the set as shooting continues in Australia. This includes massive set photos that show off new aliens, a first look at Michael Fassbender's return as David, and the introduction of Katherine Waterston as Daniels. Today, we get our first look at one cast member that came as a surprise to everyone. Yes, that is comedic actor Danny McBride taking on a more serious role as one of the Covenant crew.
This latest image shows McBride aboard the Covenant. He is seen going over some important dialogue with director Ridley Scott. The actor's character has yet to be revealed. But we do know that he is part of the crew piloting the colony ship Covenant to uncharted areas of the universe. This photo is simply titled 'Mission Debriefing', »
Soon after “The Martian” became the most successful film of his career, Ridley Scott returned to space, for the third time in five years. This time, it’s to once again continue the long-running sci-fi franchise he birthed, with “Alien: Covenant,” the sixth (or eighth, if you count the ‘vs. Predator’ spin-offs) film in the series […]

Although Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant has already been in production for a while now, it was only yesterday that Noomi Rapace officially signed on to reprise her role of Elizabeth Shaw. She’ll be joining a cast that includes the returning Michael Fassbender and newcomers like Katherine Waterson, Billy Crudup, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride, who just so happens to be featured in a new set photo alongside Scott.
Like the last set photo we got, it doesn’t reveal anything significant, but at this stage in the production, we’re not expecting to be seeing a whole lot. We’ll likely get the first trailer in the Fall, maybe a bit sooner, but right now filming is still underway and the studio is not ready to let too much trickle out.

Although production has been going on for some months, the cast for Ridley Scott’s next installment in the Alien franchise is continuing to expand. Deadline is reporting that Prometheus star Noomi Rapace will take part in next summer’s Alien: Covenant, shooting multiple weeks of scenes. This clearly suggests a reprisal of her role as Elizabeth Shaw, one of two survivors of the Prometheus’ fated expedition. She will join the other survivor of that journey, the returning Michael Fassbender as David 8, a robot with a sharp wit and killer curiosity.
Alien: Covenant joins these two returning members with newcomers to the science-fiction series, including Katherine Waterston (whose character is rumored to have familial relations with the franchise’s biggest star), Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, and Demian Bichir. As we await the first trailer, which we imagine will arrive this winter, check out the behind-the-scenes photos thus far, including our first look at McBride. »

Despite previous reports suggesting otherwise, sources close to Deadline have now confirmed that Noomi Rapace will be reprising her role from 2012’s Prometheus as Elizabeth Shaw for 2017’s sequel, Alien: Covenant. According to the outlet, the actress is currently on the set of the film in Australia, where she will shoot “weeks worth of scenes.” The size of her role is unknown at the time.
Back in August 2012, when 20th Century Fox announced they’d be making a sequel due to the moderate success of Prometheus, Rapace was on board to come back. Earlier this year, however, fans were led to believe that Rapace wouldn’t make an appearance after director Ridley Scott (Alien) confirmed such news in an interview. That story was further cemented when the film’s ensemble was unveiled and she wasn’t listed among the many names.

Noomi Rapace is expected to return for the Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant after all. Sources at trade blog Deadline are reporting that Rapace is in Australia and on the set to shoot weeks worth of scenes in Ridley Scott’s film, joining the likes of Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride and Demian Bichir.
Previous rumblings said that Rapace would not return, but that isn’t the case. It looks like Elizabeth Shaw will be back.

When the first details emerged from Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel (and Alien prequel), one name was conspicuously absent - Noomi Rapace. Rapace played the heroine Elizabeth Shaw in Prometheus, and without spoiling things, it would have made sense if she'd returned for Alien: Covenant.
Yet when Ridley Scott was asked whether Elizabeth Shaw would come back for the sequel, the director responded with a blunt "No" last year, before adding, "We're still casting the main roles."
According to Deadline, however, Rapace is back in the movie after all. Their sources suggest it isn't a cameo role, either, with Rapace on the Australian set to "shoot weeks worth of scenes". Whether she was always intended to return and kept under wraps until now, or whether »
Over the past few months, there have been a number of reports circulating about the possible involvement of Noomi Rapace on director Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. There were reports that she would only have a small role in the sequel, while others claimed that she had been cut out of the movie altogether. Now with production under way in Australia, it seems that Noomi Rapace will be a part of the movie after all.
Deadline's sources claim that Noomi Rapace is currently on the Alien: Covenant set in Australia, where she will shoot "weeks worth of scenes" in the sequel. The actress' character Elizabeth Shaw was the only human survivor of the Prometheus expedition, with the story set a decade after the 2012 movie. With the actress shooting "weeks" worth of scenes, it seems clear that her role will be more than just a simple cameo, although earlier reports claimed she had a small role, »
Principal photography recently started in Australia’s New South Wales. The film arrives in theaters on Aug. 4, 2017.
“Prometheus” was set in the late 21st century and about 30 years prior to the events in Scott’s 1979 movie “Alien.” The pic, which generated box office of more than $400 million worldwide, followed scientists aboard the spaceship Prometheus who discovered remains of an advanced civilization developing weapons that could wipe out the human race.

So it looks like Noomi Rapace will be heading back to the world of Alien after all -- at least that's what the rumor is coming from Deadline.
According to the outlet's sources, Rapace is in Australia to shoot "weeks worth of scenes" for Alien: Covenant, the sequel to 2012's Prometheus and prequel to the original Alien film from 1979. She, of course, would be reprising her role as Elizabeth Shaw, the sole human survivor of the incident on the strange planet with the Engineers.
Rapace's status in the film has been questionable at best ever since it was announced that Alien: Covenant would actually be more of a prequel to Alien than a sequel to Prometheus. Director Ridley Scott mentioned early on that she would only have a small role in the picture, but some time later stated she wasn't coming back at all in the film, which was strange. »

Once the sequel to Prometheus got rolling, it was reported that both Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender would be back to reprise their roles. Although Fassbender has indeed returned for Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott himself later said that Noomi Rapace wouldn't be involved. Although it was a shame that we wouldn't get to see what happened to Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, we could only... Read More »
