Carrie Remake Teaser Trailer Sends Fiery Message to Bullies

16 October 2012 8:48 AM, PDT | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

The first teaser trailer for Sony's remake of Carrie starring Chloe Grace Moretz has hit the web at a time when bullying and the impact it has on youths is garnering national media attention.

The Carrie teaser trailer is a nighttime helicopter shot that begins above a building on fire and then moves down the street to reveal everything in a one-to-two block stretch has also been set ablaze. The camera then stops on Carrie, covered in blood with an expression of vengeance and chilling terror on her face. Casting Chloe Grace Moretz for this iconic role was a stroke of genius.

Sony is using the tagline "You Will Know Her Name" to promote the reboot from director Kimberly Peirce and the adapted screenplay of Stephen King's novel by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Considering the amount of carnage Carrie has created with her telekinetic powers from this teaser and the voiceover, »

First Teaser Trailer For ‘Carrie’

16 October 2012 12:00 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

We recently showed you the first poster for the Kimberly Peirce remake of the Brian De Palma classic, Carrie, and now here is the first teaser trailer. Carrie is the tale of an isolated and bullied young girl who develops telekinetic powers and wreaks havoc on her town. Chloe Grace Moretz stars as Carrie and Julianne Moore is her overbearing mother.

The trailer is fantastic, and personally I think this should be the only trailer. A camera pans over a small town which has encountered great devastation. Firs are ablaze everywhere and voice-overs give an eerie retrospective documentary feel, the kind you hear on true crime shows. Finally we come across a young girl covered in blood, standing among the flames.

Carrie is released 5th April 2013. It stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde, Alex Russell, and Michelle Nolden.

First Poster For ‘Carrie’ Remake Hopes To Leave An Impression

14 October 2012 1:00 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Here’s a look for the poster for Kimberly Peirce’s remake of Carrie. The film sees Chloe Grace Moretz as a sheltered high school student who gradually develops telekinetic powers after being constantly bullied. We would just like to point out that Thn in no way endorses this as an effective or reliable way of gaining superpowers. Far from being about a superhero, this is a horror with a strong anti-bullying message. Kimberly Peirce is best known for her astonishing and shocking 1999 film Boys Don’T Cry, and from that I can clearly see why she was chosen to head this remake.

The first poster claims ‘You Will Know Her Name’, but then foolishly forget to include her name on the poster. It’s just like those morons that text you and just assume you have their name saved in your phone. Luckily I stalk Carrie on Facebook, I mean… »

The peacock network is dropping their medical drama Saving Hope from the schedule. While the TV series hasn't been officially cancelled by NBC, the writing is certainly on the wall.

Saving Hope revolves around the staff of a major hospital. The charismatic Chief of Surgery (Michael Shanks) suffers a massive brain hemorrhage on his wedding day and ends up in a coma. This leaves the facility in chaos and his fiance and fellow surgeon (Erica Durance) in a state of shock. Collins, Kristopher Turner, Julia Taylor Ross, Ben Ayres, Huse Madhavji, Salvatore Antonio, and Glenda Braganza.

The TV show has been struggling in the ratings from the start and back in July »

Cube Director Vincenzo Natali’s ‘Haunter’ Confirms Cast

17 April 2012 2:29 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Vincenzo Natali’s next project has begun shooting today and Thn can bring you the confirmed cast list for ghostly-thriller Haunter. The director of cult sci-fi thriller Cube and science-gone-wrong horror Splice, will have Little Miss Sunshine and Zombieland actress Abigail Breslin, headlining his latest effort. Joining her will be, Watchman’s Stephen McHattie and Peter Outerbridge, soon to be seen in sequel Silent Hill: Revelations. Michelle Nolden, David Hewlett and Brian King (who also wrote the screenplay), will also feature.

Natali commented:

Haunter vividly demonstrates that even ghosts have a lot to be afraid of. Brian King’s script constructs a Borgian labyrinth out of the most mundane settings and shows us how even in our everyday lives, we are spirits living in the material world.

Vincenzo Natali Begins Work On Haunter

Vincenzo Natali is working on his follow up to 2009’s “Splice”, a “reverse ghost story” called “Haunter”, and has put together quite the cast. Filming has begun, and the actors along for the ride include Abigail Breslin (“Zombieland”), Stephen McHattie (“300”, “Pontypool”), Peter Outerbridge (“Nikita”), Michelle Nolden (“Red”), and David Hewlett (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”). “Haunter” takes a standard ghost story trope—where a living, breathing human has to help a restless ghost—and turns it around, telling the story from the perspective of the restless spirits. “Teenage Lisa (Breslin) and her family died in 1986 under sinister circumstances but remain trapped in their house, unable to move on. Lisa must reach out from beyond the grave to help her present-day, living counterpart, Olivia, avoid the same fate Lisa and her family suffered.” Here’s what Natali has to say about his horror thriller: “Haunter” vividly demonstrates that even »
