Cuong NgoTransitioning from short films and documentaries to a feature length movie was not difficult for Cuong Ngo who served as a producer, director and editor while making Pearls of the Far East (2011). “Since it’s my debut film, one of the most difficult things is financing,” states the native of Saigon, Vietnam. “It was so difficult to raise the funds for the project. I was so lucky to have my partners Igor Szczurko, Tom Yarith Ker and Matt Guerin on my side. They keep important roles in our project. Irish stand-up comic and actress Deirdre O'Kane (Intermission, Inside I'm Dancing) is set to star in the British biopic Noble at Destiny Films. It focuses on the life of Christina Noble, who overcame a harsh childhood in Ireland to set up a children's foundation and help street children in Vietnam and Mongolia.
The film is being directed by Stephen Bradley (Boy Eats Girl, The Tale of Sweety Barrett) from his own script and he is also producing along with Melanie Gore-Grimes and exec producer Michael J. Hunt. Production begins on Noble this week in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It will shoot there for four weeks before moving to Liverpool until March.
