The action-packed animated comedy surrounds the swashbuckling heroic feline as he protects the citizens of the mythical town of San Lorenzo against villains after breaking a magical spell and features a stellar lineup of actors, including accomplished voice actor Eric Bauza and "SNL" vet Laraine Newman. Grab your swords and don your boots – swashbuckling cat Puss in Boots is setting out on a new adventure in the new Netflix original series “The Adventures of Puss in Boots.”

Beginning Jan. 16 the first five 22-minute episodes will be available to Netflix users in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, UK, Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux and France.

New episodes will debut throughout the year.

"Puss in Boots" Series Set For January 16th

Netflix has announced a January 16th premiere date for its original fantasy-adventure series “The Adventures of Puss in Boots.”

In the animated series, the scene-stealing feline character from the "Shrek" franchise finds himself in the hidden city of San Lorenzo, a mythical land invisible to the outside world thanks to a magical spell the protects its inhabitants and its treasure.

When Puss in Boots accidentally breaks the spell, the must do more than fight off an endless legion of invaders and marauders – he must become a legend. Eric Bauza, Jayma Mays, Laraine Newman and Joshua Rush voice regular roles on the series.

The first five 22-minute episodes from the series will be available to Netflix users in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, UK, Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux and France from that date. Further episodes will debut throughout the year.
