Jason was born to photographer Nurit Wilde and singer/composer Michael Nesmith on August 24, 1968. As the son of a well known photographer, he grew up meeting many famous people. He began acting at a young age, and after playing around with a guitar, he decided to head to Boston to the Berklee School of Music with his brother, Jonathan. He joined bands like Kill For Thrills, The Beauties, and Nancy Boy. In the late 1990s, Jason left Nancy Boy to pursue a solo career.
