YouTube Stars Rhett & Link To Receive Celebrity Award From Make-a-Wish Foundation

Since becoming two of YouTube's biggest stars, Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal -- known collectively as Rhett & Link -- have granted numerous requests for their fans through the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Rhett & Link have done more than just grant wishes for sick children who wish to meet them -- they've also served as ambassadors for Make-a-Wish and its mission.

Now, they are being honored for their service. They have been tabbed as two recipients of the 2017 Chris Greicius Celebrity Award, which celebrates the stars who have worked closely and tirelessly with Make-a-Wish.

The Chris Greicius Award is named after the first child to ever receive a wish, and its previous winners have included Katy Perry, Will Smith, Tony Hawk, and Bruno Mars. Its recipients are characterized by the enthusiasm with which they grant wishes for their fans.

For more than a decade, Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal have made videos together under the name Rhett & Link, cementing their bromance as one of YouTube's most memorable partnerships. In a recent vlog, McLaughlin and Neal -- who have been buddies since the first grade -- took their friendship to another level. They decided to go get vasectomies together and filmed the experience for a video on their Good Mythical Morning channel.

McLaughlin, who has two children, and Neal, who has three, are both are content with their current number of offspring. In order to prevent any unwanted additions to their respective families, they both decided to visit the same doctor on the same day to get matching vasectomies. Along the way, they documented the process, shared a few thoughts about male sexual health, and gave each other the sort of moral support that viewers have come to expect from their adorable friendship. »

If you're hankering to see YouTube's most inseparable duo back in action, you can look toward Jimmy Fallon, who hung out with the social media stars during a recent episode of The Tonight Show.

The late night appearance, which Rhett & Link used to promote the impending return of Good Mythical Morning, was their third visit to The Tonight Show. In returning to the NBC program, they got a chance to continue the segment that has become a signature part of their collaborations with Fallon. After previously concocting weird variations on s'mores and tea, Rhett & Link shoved various food items into buns and asked "Will It Hot Dog?" The resulting video is worth checking out, if only to watch Fallon strain as he attempts to eat dog food. »

Illustrious digital comedy duo Rhett & Link, whose Good Mythical Morning is one of the most popular daily talk series on all of YouTube, are taking their show on the road.

Beginning October 13 in Huntington, N.Y., Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal will kick off their first-ever life tour, dubbed Tour Of Mythicality. The 16-city show, which will feature comedic stories, performances of their hit songs, offbeat life advice, and a fan Q&A, is set to coincide with the duo’s debut book, Rhett & Link's Book of Mythicality. The tour will conclude on December 15 in Durham, N.C., with stops in Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Seattle, Chicago, and more.

YouTube Red’s best buddies are returning for a second go. Buddy System, the original series that features YouTube stars Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal (known collectively as Rhett & Link) has been picked up for another season.

Buddy System extends the scope of Rhett & Link’s bromance, which began when they became friends during elementary school and has since expanded to encompass a network of popular YouTube channels. In their first-ever long-form scripted series, the two friends teamed up to save their channel from their “co-ex-girlfriend.” Each episode featured its own comedic musical number, with Rhett & Link putting their songwriting skills to the test. Music videos for individual numbers from the show, including “So Dang Dark,” have received millions of views on the duo’s Good Mythical Morning channel.

YouTube To Fund Originals From Ellen DeGeneres, Rhett & Link That Won’t Live Behind ‘Red’ Paywall

YouTube has produced some 30 original films and series thus far for YouTube Red, a premium subscription service priced at $9.99 per month. But now, the video giant will begin funding originals that don’t live behind this paywall; instead, shows from the likes of Kevin Hart and The Slow Mo Guys will be ad-supported, like the rest of YouTube.

Seven total shows were unveiled at the company's annual Brandcast event yesterday evening, including: Ellen’s Show Me More, which will give viewers behind-the-scenes access to Ellen DeGeneres’ hit talk show; Good Mythical Morning, a long-form expansion of the popular talk show by digital luminaries Rhett & Link; What The Fit?, where Hart will attempt to master various fitness trends; I Am: Devi Lovato, a docu-series about the recording of the singer's new album; and The Super Slow Show, where YouTube’s The Slow Mo Guys will test the latest tech.

Rhett And Link Launch Fourth YouTube Channel, Video Version Of ‘Ear Biscuits’ Podcast

Rhett and Link, the beloved YouTube comedy duo comprising Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, have launched their fourth-ever YouTube channel, This Is Mythical. The venture represents an extension of their Good Mythical Morning talk show brand, and is set to comprise “intimate conversations, stupefying creations, and impossible confections,” according to a channel description.

On Mondays, This Is Mystical will feature a video version of Ear Biscuits, Rhett and Link’s long-running podcast. Tuesdays will feature a brand new show called Ten Feet Tall starring members of the so-called Mythical Crew -- Mike Criscimagna and Alex Punch. Another new series called Mythalicious will feature food-related videos with the crew, and other “eclectic and experimental videos” featuring Mystical Crew members are also slated to appear.

What do Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet and Orange Is The New Black and Amazon’s The Man In High Castle and The Grand Tour have in common? They all just got beat by a YouTube show.

The YouTube Red original series Buddy System - starring and from YouTube superstars Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal (aka Rhett & Link) - ranked above the originals from those other subscription video services on Variety’s latest weekly rankings of its “Top In-Demand Shows”. Buddy System occupied the #1 spot for the weeks ending March 4 and March 11. Also in the Top 10 were Hulu's The Path and Netflix’s Luke Cage, House of Cards, Stranger Things, and The Oa.

YouTube Stars Rhett & Link Announce Their First Book

YouTube’s greatest bromance is going literary. Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, who have spent the past decade making videos together under the name Rhett & Link, have announced their first book, titled Rhett & Link's Book of Mythicality: A Field Guide to Curiosity, Creativity, and Tomfoolery.

A press release notes that the Book of Mythicality, which shares its Mythical moniker with Rhett & Link’s morning show as well as their fan base, will feature “tips for laughing more, learning more, and never taking life too seriously.” Like many other books authored by members of the YouTube community, Rhett & Link’s print effort will feature stories and photos from their lives, making it a notable collector’s item for their fans. Crown Archetype, an imprint of Penguin Random House’s Crown Publishing Group, will serve as the publisher.
