The holidays are supposed to be all about giving. And WWE did give us something all right: five hours of crap! You’d think they would like to reward us with some good shows for being loyal viewers over the year. They should also want to put forth an entertaining product, so when fans sit down and watch wrestling with their relatives, they’ll create some memories that will last a lifetime. Unfortunately, no one will want to remember Ho Ho Hogan. Especially Hogan.
In other news, Kevin Nash was arrested, which isn’t a good way to spend the holidays unless you’re Nailz. Seth Rollins, Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble combined their powers on Raw and still weren’t enough for Captain Planet, I mean John Cena. And Kane was flown into Minneapolis and paid to say exactly two words on Raw. How does one get that job? »

Now, the WWE tells us that while 55-year-old Nash has not performed "regularly" since 2004, his non-wrestling "legends" contract has been immediately suspended until the domestic dispute is resolved. It was announced on Wednesday that the January 19 edition of Raw in Dallas will be a Raw Reunion episode with WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) and likely future Hall of Famer Kevin Nash on the show. The “Raw Reunion” is similar to WWE running “Old School Raw” where they brought back a lot of past stars, so look for more names to be announced soon.
What’s interesting about that edition of Raw is that it takes place one week before the Royal Rumble. The advertised main event is John Cena vs. Seth Rollins in a Lumberjack Match. There’s a chance that is only a dark match, but as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that is likely going to be the main event of Raw so that they could end it by having the lumberjacks brawling to set up the Rumble match. »

World Championship Wrestling may be just an archive on the WWE network today, but there was a time when they were the number one wrestling company in the world.
Home grown stars like Sting, Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Diamond Dallas Page, Bill Goldberg and The Four Horsemen along with transfers such as Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash of the nWo helped the Ted Turner-owned property reach an audience that WWE wasn’t catering to at the time.
However, WCW folded when Vince McMahon bought the company in 2001 and there are a lot of different reasons as to why they couldn’t stay in business. One reason in particular was the plethora of story lines that were not only abandoned before they could run their course, but certain angles that produced no payoff were counterproductive. This occurred over and over again and chipped away at consumer confidence »

You don’t have to be a fan of WWE for too long before you notice that they tend to like their superstars to be larger than life. Some of them aren’t just large in attitude but also have the appearance of being huge monsters, often towering over other superstars and using their height and strength to dominate matches. With WWE: True Giants we take a look at some of the larger behemoths.
Featuring some superstars you would expect, and lacking a few that should really be there the main documentary is a good look at some of the wrestlers from the past and present that we’ve come to love (or love to hate). Some of them have been “faces” often others were “heels” but they still had their place in the history of the squared circle and have also many made their way into the Hall of Face. »

Channing Tatum is the man of the hour (more on that at the bottom of this post) as Foxcatcher made its way into six theaters this weekend and made an impressive $270,877 for a per theater average of $45,146. But as much as people want to talk about the movie that might earn him his first Oscar nomination, the conversation continues to turn to Magic Mike Xxl, the sequel to the break out hit Magic Mike. In the film, Tatum reprises his role as the titular male stripper as he and his boys hit the road toward a stripper convention, or as Tatum has referred to the road tip movie with Time, it's a "stripper odyssey". Channing Tatum: It sucks that we do these Magic Mike movies for such efficient means and time. The first movie took 22 or 23 days, and this movie took 29 days. Those guys are so much fun -- »

In the end, WCW’s legacy has proven to be one not of horrible programming or bad wrestling, but of poor management and mishandled talent. While wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Sid, and more hogged the main event spots on the roster, younger talent – usually those having the most exciting matches on the show – were kept in midcard roles, despite their potential. Much has been made of the fact that Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Mick Foley gained their first dose of national exposure in WCW, and the company squandered them, letting WWE sign them and make millions. WCW didn’t even learn their lesson – the same thing would happen with Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, and Chris Benoit.
At the same time, WCW’s hilariously misguided governance assured that it wasn’t just future world class talents who had brief spells in the organization – washed up WWE superstars, »

A bunch of first look photos have gone online in the past day or so. First up, EW has posted a shot of Kurt Russell in the gruesome western "Bone Tomahawk," his first effort in the genre since the 1993 classic "Tombstone".
S. Craig Zahler's film has Russell, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, and Richard Jenkins playing characters who set out to rescue a group of captives from a band of cannibalistic troglodytes. A late 2015 release is planned.
Next up, Kevin Smith has posted the first promotional still from his "Tusk" follow-up "Yoga Hosers". Smith and Johnny Depp's 15-year-old daughters Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp star in the project.
The pair play two teenage yoga nuts and convenience store clerks who join forces with a legendary Montreal hunter (Depp) to fight an ancient evil rising in Manitoba.
Next up, a group of fifteen contest winners got to pose with »

Michael Kingston is a lifelong comic book and wrestling fan. In the past, various writers have attempted to create comics that mixed the two genres, but failed in spectacular fashion. In Headlocked: The Last Territory, though, Kingston creates a realistic hero in Mike Hartman who we follow on a journey in the unforgiving business. Filled with emotion and a clear passion from its writer, Headlocked is the most realistic portrayal of wrestling in the graphic novel form to date.
For his upcoming sequel Headlocked: The Last Territory Vol. 2, we follow the continuation of Hartman’s story. Kingston has taken to Kickstarter once more to raise the funds necessary to produce the book. Teaming up with him again is wrestling legend Jerry Lawler who will be providing the cover artwork. Also joining on the project in the role of guest creators are Booker T, Rob Van Dam, A.J. Styles, John Morrison, »

The Invasion should have been the biggest angle in wrestling history. Fans at the time dreamed of seeing their favourite WWF stars clash with the incoming names from WCW. People couldn’t wait to see Austin vs Goldberg and Undertaker vs Sting – the feuds almost wrote themselves. Unfortunately this didn’t quite go to plan. The storyline (which spanned from mid to late 2001) is now widely regarded as a huge anti-climax, with Vince McMahon and co. failing to hit the easiest of home runs, held back by the WWF’s need to prove itself superior to the competition.
Admittedly, Vince’s ego wasn’t the only reason the angle was prevented from reaching its full potential – some of WCW’s biggest names weren’t willing to take a pay cut to wrestle for the WWF, instead sitting out the rest of their inflated contracts at home. These names »

News: Magic Mike Is Too Hot For Women to Handle
The 38-year-old Best of Me actress told Jimmy Kimmel on October 13 that she's planning on dressing her 11-month-old boy Tommy as a little stripper.
Michelle explains her reasoning, "He's just got the body for it. What can I say?" She laughs as she says, "He's really cute. He's a big boy. He's got these defined muscles and he just, he's got blonde hair, blue eyes. He's got stripper written all over him. Sorry, it's terrible »

Some experience has been added to the big cast of Magic Mike Xxl. And from the sounds of it, tWitch is taking it off. “I have to get waxed,” Boss said. “I'm really nervous about that.” The talk show host said she would go with Boss to get the neck-to-toe procedure done for support and great television. A former finalist on So You Think You Can Dance, Boss went on to »

It’s been quite a while since I’ve personally reviewed a WWE Home Video release – we have some great guys here on Nerdly that are more knowledgeable and are certainly bigger fans of wrestling than I. But when said home video release involves one of my all-time favourite wrestlers, Sting, there was no way I wasn’t checking this out for myself.
WWE: The Best of Sting encompasses the entirety of Sting’s career from his body-building beginnings to his debut as one half of The Freedom Fighters (later renamed Blade Runners), alongside my other all-time favourite wrestler, Jim Hellwig aka Ultimate Warrior, to his early WCW days, to the enigmatic, Crow-inspired, black and white face-painted, icon of wrestling he is today. This retrospective encompasses it all. From his Blade-Runners debut to his last WCW match vs. Ric Flair on the very last episode of WCW Monday Nitro »

Joe's upper body is an amazing sight to see.
You go, Joe!
Now clearly, his hard work is paying off as his body is ripped in this new photo from the set of the film in Savannah, Georgia today. Does this mean we’re going to see a lot of Manganiello shirtless in the movie? Sofia Vergara, you are one lucky lady!
Just yesterday, Channing Tatum was spotted filming and showing off his buff muscles too. Channing and Joe were reportedly soaking wet and giving a show to the ladies on set.
Photos: Scott Foley and More of Hollywood's Hottest Shirtless Men
On Sept. 29, the 34-year-old was spotted on the first day of filming the sequel about a male stripper in Savannah, Georgia.
In the pics, he's helping carry some furniture on set, and his muscles are in full display.
Photos: Tim McGraw and More of Hollywood's Hottest Shirtless Men
On his shirt, it says Mike Lane Custom Designs in Tampa, Florida, so this may just mean his character started the furniture company of his own that he only dreamed of in the first film.
Showing off how buff he is, we know Tatum will also get shirtless in this film, making the wait »
