Michael Weatherly to Direct NCIS Episode

29 November 2010 4:50 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

NCIS star Michael Weatherly will make his directorial debut early next year.

"I like cameras and I like sets and the surgical nature of make believe that happens - the whole process," Weatherly, who plays Tony Dinozzo, tells TV Guide. "I love all aspects of production, and I have a great deal of respect for the whole craft."

"I'm really excited; it's an extension of my curiosity about film and TV."

Weatherly expects to go behind the camera for an episode filming in January, and his directorial experience will also be a special feature on the forthcoming Season 8 DVD.

Michael says his desire to direct stems from ... the ABC soap opera Loving.

"That was always fascinating to me," he says. "When I was on the soap opera, I'd sit in the editing booths when they'd tighten up the show to see how they did it, what the technical process was. »

NCIS Exclusive: Girl Power!

2 November 2010 6:54 AM, PDT | TVGuide - Breaking News | See recent TVGuide - Breaking News news »

Pauley Perrette's lab rate Abby has been let loose in the NCIS squad room. In a scene she's shooting for a big two-part episode airing November 16 and 23, she's trying to play pin the tail on the bomber. Pointing to a video of a suspect playing on a computer screen, she blurts out to Sean Murray's McGee, "He just confessed he knew how to make the murder weapon! I mean, how many people know how to make a homemade Claymore mine?"

"In this room?" asks McGee. A couple of visiting Israeli agents raise their hands. So does Cote de Pablo, as NCIS team member Ziva David. Then, sheepishly, so does Abby herself. "Ok, fine," she mutters, reluctantly withdrawing her point.

NCIS: Season Seven - DVD Review

5 October 2010 8:24 AM, PDT | Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news »

NCIS is one of those rare shows that is just getting better with age. The series is a tad formulaic and predictable, but the cast keeps you wanting to watch. With the DVD release of season seven, the series continues to push what works (serious crime cases with a blend of ensemble comedy) while expanding on the characters. The season also features a story arc that has a great cliffhanger for season eight. For those who don.t know, NCIS stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service and follows an investigation team led by NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), and consists of NCIS Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly), NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), and »

Hello Games has claimed that Xbox Live Arcade is a "slaughterhouse" for smaller studios. The Joe Danger developer said that it turned down the platform due to the low sales of games outside of the larger franchises. "Why choose Psn? It was the only way we could self-publish," said studio head Sean Murray, according to GamesIndustry.Biz. "Xbla is kind of a slaughterhouse for smaller developers. Sean Murray Also Signs, 'NCIS' Cast Complete For Next Season

23 June 2010 12:33 PM, PDT | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

The much-feared NCIS contract disputes now appear to be a thing of the past, as the last one in the bunch - Sean Murray - has likewise signed a multi-year deal to stay with the CBS series. Murray, who plays geeky Tim McGee on NCIS, joins Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, Pauley Perrette and others in returning to the hit show's eighth season.

'Pay Battle' Continues Between 'NCIS' Cast and CBS?

Unfortunately, the details of the contract have not been made public, so we can't say if the stars, Murray, Weatherly, de Pablo and Perrette, were given a per-episode raise, which was the purported reason why negotiations were stalled in the first place.

'NCIS' keeps the band together, Starz gets mobbed up

22 June 2010 6:56 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The potential drama over "NCIS" cast members renegotiating their contracts turned out not to be very dramatic.

Sean Murray, who's been with the show since its first season and a regular since Season 2, has re-signed with the show for next season, The Live Feed reports. He's the last of the four regulars with expiring deals to re-up.

Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and David McCallum have also closed new deals in recent weeks. Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo were already locked in for 2010-11.

- Starz is developing a series about organized crime and hoping it can do something similar to what "The Sopranos" did for HBO.

The show in question is "Underbelly," an Australian series that dramatized a real-life crime war in Melbourne and was a critical and popular hit there. According to Vulture, Starz has bought rights to the show but is looking to adapt stories from American crime »

According to TV Guide, Sean Murray has signed a new contract for the upcoming eighth season of the hit CBS procedural, which ranked as TV's top scripted drama in 2009-2010.

Many of the actors all hit free agency recently and Murray, who plays Special Agent Timothy McGee, was the last remaining series regular without a new contract for Season 8.

McGee and all his cohorts will be back this fall.

David McCallum, Rocky Carroll, Pauley Perrette and Michael Weatherly all agreed to terms this spring, while Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo already had long-term deals in place.

'NCIS' Co-Star Michael Weatherly To Return

NCIS co-star Michael Weatherly has closed a deal to continue on the veteran CBS crime procedural. Weatherly was one of four original cast members, along with Pauley Perrette, David McCallum and Sean Murray, who didn’t have deals beyond this past seventh season and whose future on the show became uncertain in April over a salary dispute with producer CBS TV Studios. McCallum reached a deal a few days later, while Weatherly and Perrette attended the CBS upfront despite the fact that they didn’t have new contracts (Murray didn’t attend because of a scheduling issue.) Tony is officially staying put.

Michael Weatherly is the latest NCIS regular to ink a new multi-year deal with the show, sources confirm to me semi-exclusively.

For those keeping track at home, here’s where the 2010 NCIS Contract Renegotiation Saga stands as of this evening: Of the five actors in limbo, Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum have all reached new deals to return. Sean Murray is the sole cast member still in negotiations.

Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo already had deals in place for next season.

Pauley Perrette Signs New Contract, Returning to NCIS

7 June 2010 2:09 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Any fears that the NCIS gang may be disbanding after seven seasons together are slowly being assuaged. Late last week, Pauley Perrette signed a new contract to stay with the show.

The NCIS cast has been embroiled in an ongoing re-negotiation saga, as many stars' deals were set to expire after the just-completed Season 7. Now, only two remain unsigned.

With the news that Pauley Perrette signed a new, multi-year contract to keep her on NCIS for the foreseeable future, Michael Weatherly and Sean Murray are the only holdouts.

What Abby wants, Abby gets ... in this case, a new contract!

Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum reached new contracts to return in recent months, whereas Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo already had deals in place for next season.

As for Weatherly and Murray, they remain at the bargaining table, though they've indicated no real desire to leave, and EW cites »

They love NCIS, but does NCIS love them back?

Australia's Herald Sun is reporting that the fate of three NCIS stars continues to be in limbo, in follow up to a Deadline exclusive several weeks ago that revealed a dispute in the contracts of some of the show's stars -- specifically, their per-episode take-home's.

David McCallum, who belonged to the original quartet, had since arrived at an agreement with CBS TV Studios, which produces the ratings juggernaut.

On the other hand, there remains to be no news about Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and Sean Murray, whose contracts end this season.
