Mini Bio (1)

Niamh Murphy is originally from Ireland. She had a degree in Textile Design and moved to Los Angeles, fresh out of college, with the hope of working in movies and started working on low-budget movies. Learning from the bottom up, she started aging and painting costumes, and from there, she went on to doing bigger and better movies.

The first big-budget movie she worked for was Batman & Robin (1997), which she considered as a fantastic experience because of very flamboyant costumes and her inputs of hand painting and detailing. From there, she worked on a lot of different movies like The Postman (1997) and The Patriot (2000), which were big epic movies.

Most challenging movies she worked includes Deep Blue Sea (1999) (which was underwater, and had to do all sorts of aging on costumes to make them look like they had been working in the water) and A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) (a futuristic movie that had all sorts of amazing costumes and lots of plastics and interesting things to dye).

In her career, Niamh thinks Three Kings (1999) was one of the most fun movies she ever worked on because it was set in a desert and she had to make a whole bunch of extras look like they were soldiers in the desert and there was so much aging, and dusting, and dirt in that film. Recently completing heavy budget movies like Red Planet (2000), The Matrix Reloaded (2003), and The Matrix Revolutions (2003), Niamh Murphy continues to give her detailed talented works.
