Model-turned-actress Elizabeth Hurley is reportedly happy with being deposed as the face of Estee Lauder by american supermodel Carolyn Murphy. Estee Lauder bosses still want Liz to appear in advertising for the firm's fragrances, but the rest of the make-up and skincare range will now be marketed by Carolyn. But Liz, who signed a $2.8 million contract insists she is happy with her new role, despite the end of her seven-year reign. She says, "I'm going to do many more public events, which I much prefer to sitting in a dark studio all day."

Hurley is being swapped for curvy supermodel Carolyn Murphy - 10 years her junior - reportedly for falling foul of American acting unions and having links to the Mafia through a boyfriend. Carolyn won the coveted spokesmodel role from actress Gwyneth Paltrow and models Linda Evangelista and Carmen Gass.
