‘Rectify’ Finale: Creator Ray McKinnon on Daniel’s Evolution, the Legal System, and that Final Scene
Daniel Holden’s journey on the gravel road to redemption ended Dec. 14 with the series finale of SundanceTV’s “Rectify.” The drama has been praised to the skies for its slow-burn study of a haunted man’s struggle to reintegrate himself into small-town society after 19 years in prison on a wrongful murder conviction.

Rectify” creator/exec producer Ray McKinnon, who is also an actor known for his work on “Sons of Anarchy” and “Deadwood,” spoke with Variety about the show’s evolution over its four seasons, the breathtaking skill of the cast led by Aden Young, and the deeper meaning he sought in telling Daniel’s story. The distinctive voice and spare poetry that McKinnon infused into “Rectify” rings through every answer.

Just three months after Millennium Entertainment acquired the dramatic thriller The World Made Straight, the studio has released the first trailer.

In a rural Appalachian community haunted by the legacy of a Civil War massacre, young and rebellious Travis Shelton (Jeremy Irvine) finds himself ensnared in the violence of the past and the subtle evils of the present. Based on the novel by Ron Rash, The World Made Straight also stars Noah Wyle, Minka Kelly and Haley Joel Osment.

'World Made Straight' Starring Minka Kelly Lands at Millennium
Millennium Entertainment announced today that they have acquired all domestic rights for the coming-of-age thriller The World Made Straight, and will release the film theatrically in the U.S. in February 2015.

Jeremy Irvine, Minka Kelly, Noah Wyle, Adelaide Clemens and Haley Joel Osment star in the film. Directed by David Burris, the film is based on the novel by New York Times best-selling author Ron Rash, and scripted by Shane Danielsen. Myriad Pictures is handling world sales on the film.

Based on the acclaimed novel by the same name, The World Made Straight is set in a rural community heavy with a dark past and dangerous present. The film follows a rebellious young man, Travis, (Jeremy Irvine) as he struggles to decide between the dark path he is on and the chance at a new life.
