The Latest ‘True Blood’ Casualty Speaks Out About That Shocking Exit

7 July 2014 9:24 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Spoiler Alert: Do not read on if you have yet to see “True Blood’s” latest episode, “Fire in the Hole.”

The body count continues to rise on the final season of HBO’s “True Blood,” and Sunday’s episode saw another long-running character abruptly bite the dust (and, in typical “True Blood” fashion, while he was naked).

Joe Manganiello’s Alcide died doing what he did best — trying to save Sookie (Anna Paquin) — but at the end of the day, the werewolf proved to be another piece of collateral damage in the war between the humans and the vampires, shot by one of the gun-toting townsfolk just for being a supernatural creature. The knife was further twisted since, earlier in the episode, Sookie admitted to former paramour Bill (Stephen Moyer) that Alcide loved her more than she loved him.

As Manganiello told TV Guide, Alcide’s death was the »

“True Blood”: Dog Days are Over

7 July 2014 6:32 AM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Good grief, are they just going to kill everyone?! With the chief goal of the final season of True Blood clearly being to leave as few characters alive to see the cast party as possible (fewer drink tickets!), this week’s episode tidily dispatched with a central castmember, a longtime recurring character, and about a dozen others. Plus it featured Eric in a fabulous James Woods wig circa 1986. Let’s dig in!

We start the episode in an ashram in Los Angeles, where hotties are doing yoga. One of them turns out to be Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp). Ohhhh boy.

Over in France, Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) asks Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) how long he’s been sick. He says a month. Pam says she felt Tara meet the true death, so I guess that confirms it once and for all. Eric says that he has finally given up, mostly because of Sylvie. »

'True Blood' Recap: Sarah Newlin Returns, Rip Alcide

6 July 2014 9:00 PM, PDT | Uinterview | See recent Uinterview news »

Alicide died at the hands of the Bon Temps vigilantes and Pam convinced Eric to go after Sarah Newlin with her in True Blood’s “Fire in the Hole.”

Sookie And Bill Try To Track Hep-v Vamps

In Bon Temps, Sookie (Anna Paquin) put her master plan with Bill (Stephen Moyer) in motion: she was going to drink his blood (after last season’s transfusion, the blood she already had in her system is no longer adequate to alert Bill of her being in danger), and then sit in the woods as bait for the Hep-v vamps. Sookie would allow herself to be taken, just like the others, and Bill would then be able to locate them and rescue Sookie, Arlene (Carrie Preston), Holly (Lauren Bowles) and Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) from becoming Hep-v vamp dinner.

Bill isn’t all too thrilled with the plan, but he uses the time to »
