Although production on Inhumans is well underway, Marvel has added a new member to the cast of the ABC and IMAX series, with Chad James Buchanan (Star, Glee, Jane the Virgin) taking to Twitter to announce that he has joined the cast of the superhero show:

There’s no indication as to what role Buchanan could be playing, and all of the main characters in the series have been cast. However, as the official synopsis reveals, much of the show will take place on Earth, so it’s possible that he’s portraying a human character, or perhaps a minor member of the Inhumans.

A crossover between Marvel’s Inhumans and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. sounding unlikely

9 April 2017 6:00 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Although ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the first entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to introduce the concept of the Inhumans, executive producer Jed Whedon has cast doubt over the possibility of the upcoming Inhumans TV series crossing over with his own show.

“Without being able to say anything really about that show, it will have its own world, just as we tried to start our own world,” Whedon told Digital Spy. “Whether or not there’s a crossover, we will see. Everything is connected, and that’s fun to play with. But the point of our show is to be our show, and we want our fans to be rewarded for watching it without having to watch everything else. But we also want there to be a bigger reward for people who watch all of them, so that they’ll start to see that there’s lines connecting it. »

First synopsis for Marvel’s Inhumans teases a military coup

5 April 2017 3:20 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It’s been a busy day for Marvel news; we’ve heard details on Cloak & Dagger’s episode count, a series order for New Warriors, and now ABC has unveiled the first synopsis for its upcoming Inhumans series – and it sounds like we’ll be spending more time on Earth than Attilan.

After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.

So, based on the information above, it would seem that Maximus will be overthrowing Black Bolt, forcing the Royal Family to seek refuge in Hawaii while they devise a plan to reclaim the throne.

Now that Inhumans Prime #1 has formally kicked off the ResurrXion era from the New Attilan perspective, we can look forward to the many titles launching that include those characters, specifically the focus of today’s discussion, that of Black Bolt.

Penned by award-winning science fiction author Saladin Ahmed (Throne of the Crescent Moon), who’s actually making his Marvel debut, and illustrated by Christian Ward (Ultimates), this new ongoing title will no doubt offer an intimate glimpse at the King of the Inhumans like never before. After giving a look-see at the gallery at the top, you’ll probably agree that the dynamic visuals are worthy of the character, to say the least. Plus, how can you not love that Jack Kirby variant cover?

As for the narrative, well, I think it’s kind of funny »

In Search of The Most Interesting Superhero Movie

29 March 2017 8:36 AM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

An assessment of the remaining superhero movies of 2017.

There’s a hornets nest to be rattled when it comes to comparing superhero movies in any context, especially when it comes to categorizations like “Best” or “Most Anticipated.” Into these discussions there will always be a hot injection of deeply held personal histories, character and imprint loyalties, and the knowledge that we are not currently in a moment of peace between factions. There are dueling cinematic universes, after all. Plus a bunch of other heroes jumping into the pool, claws out.

So there’s no sense in doing a list of Best, Worst, or Most Anticipated Superhero movies here. Somewhere else on this site, sure. But not today. My interest in superhero movies during a week in which we saw two major superhero movie trailers drop, is less about what is best, what will be more successful at the box office, or »

Inhumans: More Set Photos & Video Shows Black Bolt Vs. The Police

20 March 2017 10:06 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

It is definitely easier to get set photos and videos of TV shows being shot in Hawaii than it is here in Georgia. One literally has to climb trees with telephoto lenses for The Walking Dead, but we seem to get new in-depth pictures from Inhumans every few days from @hawaii_isla808 on Twitter.

Today's round shows Black Bolt in a bit of trouble, as he seems to be on the run from the cops. If you look closely you can see broken windows and smashed in cars, as Black Bolt may have whispered a few words like, "Stop. Leave me Alone," which even in a whisper could shatter a building. The Inhumans have gained in popularity recently due to other their appearances in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Inhumans vs. X-Men comic crossover, and the general ease it is to create new superheros with the Terrigen crystals (or mist), which »

Marvel’s Inhumans set photos offer first glimpse of Medusa

We’ve already seen a few photos from the Hawaii set of Marvel’s newest TV series Inhumans featuring Black Bolt, Crystal and Lockjaw [see here and here], and you may want to get your magnifying glass out, as Reel News Hawaii has a few more snaps which offer up a glimpse of Serinda Swan’s Medusa, confirming that she’ll be retaining her purple costume and long, red flowing locks.

It’s a bit like Where’s Wally? (or Where’s Waldo? to our American friends) , but if you look really closely you may also be able to pick out Anson Mount’s Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon’s Maximus and Sonya Balmores’ Auran…

This September, the first two episodes of Marvel’s Inhumans will premiere on IMAX screens before heading straight to ABC where they’ll air with some additional material before the next six instalments follow. Big money has been spent to ensure the show feels like more than just your average comic book TV series, and while we still haven’t seen any footage from it, some new photos have found their way online today as shooting continues in sunny Hawaii.

You’ll have to squint, but look at the images embedded in the Tweet below and you’ll notice that we now have a first look at Medusa (Serinda Swan) alongside Black Bolt (Anson Mount). We sadly only see the Inhumans star from behind, but her flowing red locks are on full display along with a purple costume which should be instantly recognizable to fans of the comic book character »

Inhumans: ABC's Complete Cast Of Royal Family Is Here! We Will Get Lockjaw!

8 March 2017 7:00 AM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

We have learned the full character cast thanks to a report from THR, including the fact that yes, Lockjaw (the teleporting dog) will be a player in the show.

The Inhumans were introduced by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby (of course his hand was in this) in 1965, but recently they have come on strong in the comics as a major adversary to the X-Men, and have been featured in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but not the same Inhumans that will be explored in the upcoming ABC TV show. Instead, this show will focus on the Royal Family of the Inhumans, who have considerably greater powers than the ones that we have seen on S.H.I.E.L.D.

A very cool thing about this show is that the first two episodes will be shot and featured in IMAX theaters over Labor Day weekend, which is a great promotional technique. Roel Reine will direct these first two hours, »

Black Bolt And Lockjaw Spotted On The Set Of Marvel’s Inhumans

Marvel has started shooting Inhumans in Hawaii and the first photos from the set of the highly anticipated TV series have surfaced today. They feature some pretty massive reveals, too, as we get a first look at both Anson Mount suited up as Black Bolt alongside the giant teleporting dog Lockjaw. If you’re wondering why he’s bright blue, it’s not because he’s been given a new look; this is simply a CGI stand-in.

What these photos do confirm is that Lockjaw will resemble his comic book counterpart in terms of size and appearance, something which should make fans of Inhumans very happy. Less pleasing though is the sight of Black Bolt without his familiar costume or mask. It’s possible that this is the character’s casual wear and that he’ll have some sort of battle suit for when the royal family heads into action, »
