- He attended Frontier Central High School in Hamburg, New York. Shortly after graduation he volunteered for Vietnam and served with the 1/27 Infantry, 25th Infantry Division as a mortarman from May of 1968 to July of 1969 extending his stay in country for an early out. His first use of the GI Bill was to obtain his FCC license for broadcasting at Brown Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1970 where he graduated with a high proficency and landed his first job at WKIZ in Key West Florida as a top 40 disk jockey. He spun platters for close to 2 years. Using his GI Bill again in 1973 he enrolled at Boston University in their School Of Communications thinking he would get a degree in broadcasting and become a program director at a radio station when he came out. Well, he was introduced to film in his freshman year and decided film was for him. He received his Bachelor Of Science Degree in Broadcasting and Film in 1977. Coming west after graduation and entering into the film industry in any category other than entry was impossible. His work ethic was always good and had no problem working his way up. His first opportunity came in commercials with a company called Vern Gillum and Friends. Here is where he really learned the ABCs of the town. Martin Tahse hired him first as a Property Master and later as an Art Director, cementing his career in the Art Department.
