Dwayne Johnson is considered by many to be one of the nicest guys in all of Hollywood, not to mention one of its biggest stars, literally and figuratively. Earlier this month, the actor took to his Facebook page, as he often does, posting a new video from the set of Fast and Furious 8, but this time, the video was accompanied by an uncharacteristic rant, where he called some of his unidentified male co-stars "candy asses." Today we have more details on what lead to this rant, and why several members of the cast and crew thought his post was "unacceptable."
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the actor's online rant was caused by some drama on the set that unfolded on August 8, after franchise star/producer Vin Diesel kept the cast and crew waiting for him to emerge from his trailer. This was a regular occurrence on the set, and the »

While we’ve had our fair share of updates from the set of F. Gary Gray’s Fast 8, what with all the videos and photos that been been rolling out as part of the “Fast Friday” updates, we still have yet to see anything official. And unfortunately, that won’t be changing any time soon.
The film has now wrapped production and as the last “Fast Friday” update, we got a lengthy post from the official Facebook page, thanking the cast of the film, along with all of the fans, and announcing that we’ll get to see the very first trailer for Fast 8 this December.
Here’s the full announcement from the Fast & Furious Facebook.

It has been an intense and interesting week for the cast and crew of Fast and Furious 8. The usually positive and high-spirited Dwayne Johnson publicly announced his disgust at a few certain cast members, calling them 'Candy Asses'. And it set off a firestorm of speculation about whom he might actually be talking about. In light of that, the production team has now called an end to their 'Fast Friday' initiative, which was bringing new photos and video every Friday from the production.
It doesn't appear that the sequel has wrapped. But a lengthy message was posted on the movie's official Facebook. It was accompanied with a new photo of the entire cast, gathered together. Interesting to note, Dwayne Johnson has been moved all the way down to the end of the cast picture, and he is standing next to Scott Eastwood, whom many believed was one of the 'Candy »
Well, it's official. After months of shooting, Furious 8 appears to be in the can. The studio, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and director F. Gary Gray have done a great job of letting fans peek in behind the scenes of this massive production, but hungry viewers will have to deal with the absence of any form of a production diary for the next few months.
As the film transitions from production to post-production, they'll be shifting their focus into making the film as great as it can be in the editing room. But there's no need to fret. Based on the post from the official Facebook page, it sounds like we'll be hearing back from them in December for what we can assume will be the first trailer for the film.
Check out what the post had to say down below!

One of the most interesting movie projects to be uncovered during the massive Sony hack in late 2014 was a movie that eventually came to be known as Mib 23, a crossover of the Men in Black and Jump Street franchises. Both Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill were said to return as Jenko and Schmidt, with two younger actors replacing Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as J and K. Earlier this year, it seemed like the movie may actually happen, but, according to Jonah Hill, that may not be the case.
Sony Pictures made this long-rumored project official during their CinemaCon presentation in April, and then in May, we reported that The Muppets filmmaker James Bobin has come aboard to direct. We haven't heard anything about the project since then, but during an interview with Toronto Sun for his new movie War Dogs, Jonah Hill expressed doubt that Mib 23 will ever actually happen. »

Preacher is one of my favorite series currently running on TV and it's going to be released on Blu-ray and DVD October 4.
The first season takes a while to get going, mostly because of character development but it really gets going. Lots of gore and is damned hilarious in spots. Very interesting characters as well. Can't wait for season 2. Read more about the upcoming release below.

Not long before Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media won its release from bankruptcy in April, the ebullient CEO said he would now be leading a “well-capitalized media company that is well positioned for growth and success.” His financial adviser, from the firm of Houlihan Lokey, predicted the reborn Relativity would attract a “feeding frenzy” of new investment.
Kavanaugh’s company did shed a mountain of debt, and many employees, during its eight months under Chapter 11 protection. But today, the Beverly Hills-based entertainment concern finds itself with many of the same challenges that dogged it even before it was forced to seek bankruptcy protection a year ago. It’s still struggling to attract new investment and now has released its grip on a pair of key film distribution deals.
Relativity needed senior creditors to agree at the end of June to extend the date for the company to make a $30 million debt payment, »

Sony Pictures Entertainment continues developing writer/director Shane Black's take on pulp magazine hero "Doc Savage" for producer Neil Moritz and Columbia Pictures, with a well-known genre actor now cast as 'Savage':
Dwayne Johnson, one of the biggest men in film @ 6' 5" and 260 lbs., will play the copper-toned pulp magazine hero.
"...'Doc Savage' is proceeding on pace," said Black. "...as 'Iron Man' wound down I sort of reconnected with Sony who have been gracious to say, 'We’ll wait a year and sit on these rights until you’re finished with this other picture that we don’t control.' So they were really cool about it, they were really nice. So yeah I’m back on it."
Originally published in pulp mags during the 1930's, 'Doc Savage' was created by publisher Henry W. Ralston and editor John L. Nanovic at Street and Smith Publications, »
