Rare Aliens Set Photos Show Actor James Remar as the Original Corporal Hicks

19 November 2014 9:27 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

James Cameron's 1986 film Aliens is an awesomely badass movie and one of my favorite sci-fi action films of all time. The movie was released with Michael Biehn in the role of Marine squad Leader Corporal Dwayne Hicks. But before Biehn came along, James Remar had originally been cast in the role. He even filmed a good chunk of the film before he was fired. Today we have a set of rare photos from the movie that feature Remar as Hicks.

It's really weird seeing him in the role because after seeing Biehn kick ass as the character it's hard to imagine anyone else play him. Remar was most recently in the Daniel Radcliffe film Horns, but he might be best known for his part as Harry Morgan in Dexter

When Remar was let go from Aliens, it was said that it was because of "creative differences," but the actor »

It's not every day that Richard Castle takes time away from Beckett to ... start a support group? In an exclusive look at a new ABC promo, Castle decides to start a meeting for the "Men at 10." Now before you think that's some secret code, it's literally about the men whose shows air at 10 p.m. on ABC. And so far, that includes Richard Castle and Forever's Dr. Henry Morgan, who takes a very honest approach to the gathering, and... well, Castle is Castle. ‘Forever's’ Ioan Gruffudd: Chained and Shirtless in the Line of Duty (Exclusive Photo)

11 November 2014 10:25 AM, PST | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

No shirt, no shoes, big problems. Ioan Gruffudd (“Fantastic Four”) learns a little something about human bondage Tuesday on his supernatural ABC drama “Forever.” In TheWrap's exclusive photo from the episode, Gruffudd's character, an immortal New York medical examiner named Dr. Henry Morgan, finds himself in a deliciously sexy pickle (for viewers anyway) when he finds himself chained, bound, and um, shirtless. See photos: 62 Fall TV Actors Ranked by Popularity Of course, Gruffudd's character tends to be naked often as part of his multiple returns from death involves coming back sans clothing. Forever: ABC Orders Full Season of Struggling Drama

7 November 2014 4:13 PM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Though Forever has been struggling in the ratings, ABC has ordered nine additional episodes, bringing the first season tally to 22 installments.

On the Forever TV show, New York City's star medical examiner is Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd). He can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience -- he's been alive for 200 years but can't figure out how or why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.

The show debuted in late September and got off to a poor start, following the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars on a Monday night. It attracted a 1.5 rating with 8.26 million viewers. The following night, in its permanent timeslot, the demo rose to a 1.8 rating but viewership dropped to 6.62 million. »

ABC Gives Forever a Full Season Order, Cancels Selfie

7 November 2014 11:11 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

ABC has announced some good news for Forever fans and some pretty sad news for Selfie watchers today. The network is picking up the freshman drama about the eternal doctor Henry Morgan but cancelling the new comedy series, starring Doctor Who‘s Karen Gillian and Sleepy Hollow‘s John Cho. Forever‘s full season order from ABC is a little surprising. The series hasn’t received any critical acclaim and has been struggling in the ratings, premiering to 6.9 million total viewers and a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demo  and nabbing only a 1.1 rating, along with 5 million viewers in its most recent episode. Perhaps ABC sees creative promise in Forever or likes the similarities that the series bears with the network’s Castle. Meanwhile, the cancellation of Selfie is, unfortunately, not shocking at all. The comedy has been struggling to attract viewers since its premiere, and despite the show having improved »

ABC's 'Forever' gets full season order

7 November 2014 10:45 AM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

ABC's Forever may not be eternal, but the freshman drama is at least sticking around until the end of the season. Forever just received an order from the network for another nine episodes. The drama stars Ioan Gruffudd as Dr. Henry Morgan, an immortal medical examiner. The pickup is a bit surprising considering the show's ratings -- the most recent episode had a very low 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.9 million viewers in the next-day numbers. But Forever does benefit very strongly from DVR, with the season averaging 7.6 million viewers and a 1.9 rating, with a recent episode spiking 82 percent thanks to time-shifted playback. »

One Tree Hill Star Hilarie Burton to Appear on ABC’s Forever

28 October 2014 5:22 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

In his 200-plus years on Earth, I wonder if Henry Morgan has had a chance to watch much TV, especially teen dramas. Well, whether Henry has or has not, Forever will soon find itself dealing with a cast member from one of the most popular teen dramas of all-time, as One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton, who played Peyton Sawyer on The WB/CW series for six seasons, has landed a guest role on the new ABC drama. Burton, who has guested on other series, such as Grey’s Anatomy and White Collar, since she left One Tree Hill after Season 6, will find herself in a much different role than she’s accustomed to. According to Entertainment Weekly, Burton will appear in a November episode of Forever as “a dominatrix who becomes a murder suspect when one of her clients turns up dead. She meets immortal doctor Henry (Ioan Gruffudd) during the investigation, »

Forever: Cancel or Keep the New ABC Drama?

ABC is still trying to fill that Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot. Many ABC shows have been given that timeslot and they've all been cancelled -- Killer Women, Body of Proof and Lucky 7, to name just a few. So, how's the new Forever TV show doing? Will it break the trend or be cancelled as well?

Forever: Season One Ratings

8 October 2014 1:42 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

The Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot has been a big ratings problem for ABC for quite awhile. Show after show has been cancelled. Will their new Forever series change that trend? Will it be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available »

On the new ABC drama series Forever, Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd) is hiding a big secret. New York City's star medical examiner not only studies the dead to solve criminal cases, but also to look for answers as to why he's been alive for 200 years. With the help of his best friend and confidant, Abe (Judd Hirsch), who is the only one that knows his secret, Henry's remarkable observation skills are proving to be quite useful for Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza), but they're also raising questions and curiosity. During this exclusive interview with Collider, actor Ioan Gruffudd talked about how he got involved with Forever, keeping the element of danger when your character can never die, the awkwardness of always coming back to life naked, working with Judd Hirsch, Henry’s mysterious enemy, and not needing to know all of the answers.  Check out what he »

Forever episode 2 review: Look Before You Leap

25 September 2014 1:30 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Forever settles into a generic groove by its second episode. Here's Billy's review of Look Before You Leap...

This review contains spoilers.

1.2 Look Before You Leap

It was hard not to be mildly disappointed with the first regular season episode of Forever, because Look Before You Leap seemed very mechanical for the most part. The charm evident in the pilot all but vaporised, and we were presented with a by-the-numbers case that wouldn’t have seemed out of place in an eighties cop show.

What we really wanted to see was the relationship between Detective Jo Martinez and Dr Henry Morgan to develop, but it just didn't. Jo simply sees Henry as a fast track to detecting results and drags him around like her favourite accessory. It didn’t help that they introduced a new superior for Jo in the form of Lt. Joanne Reece (Lorraine Toussaint), who was the »

‘Forever’ Series Premiere Review

23 September 2014 9:01 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Writer: Matthew Miller

Director: Brad Anderson

Cast: Ioan Gruffudd, Alana De La Garza, Joel David Moore, Judd Hirsch

The Story: Henry Morgan is an immortal doctor working in the city morgue.  After surviving a subway crash, Morgan goes in search of the perpatrator whilst a mysterious caller reveals he knows his secret.

The Verdict:

When I first heard of Forever I was unsure what to expect, the premise made it sound like it would take a mainly supernatural tone but going by the pilot, the show seems to be a nice mix of genres.

Ioan Gruffudd’s Dr. Henry Morgan fancies himself a bit of a Sherlock Holmes as he deducts a pretty cellist’s life on the subway.  Just as you feel you has the general gist, the subway train crashes and both Morgan and the cellist are dead.  However through Morgan’s narrative we learn that he cannot »

Forever Series Premiere Review: “Pilot” (Season 1, Episode 1)

22 September 2014 8:00 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

To watch the previews for ABC’s new series Forever is to encounter a feeling of déjà vu. From year to year, how many new fall series are, A) set in New York City, B) have a distinguished foreign actor in the lead role, C) focused on a cunning protagonist who has a unique advantage for a job as a top-tier investigator, and D) compete with a supernatural twist? The odds are that any fall show with a 10pm timeslot going into the premiere season will encompass at least one of the four traits outlined above. Forever just manages to be unique by not being unique, grabbing all of the above qualifiers.

Or, perhaps the reason for déjà vu is that the series bears a formidable resemblance to New Amsterdam. That short-lived 2008 series was set in New York City with a foreign leading actor (future Game of Thrones regular Nikolaj Coster-Waldau »
