With any luck, Tom Felton’s Twitter application of choice will follow him over the border into the United States as he heads to the New York premiere for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” He posted another pic in the Twitter-Wood feed today to announce that he is heading south for his next stop on the premiere circuit.
Newcomer to our feed Kristen Bell vehemently defended her authenticity today, so I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt that this recommendation for “My Sister’s Keeper” is for real. Mandy Moore also tweeted in with her reactions to “The King of Kong.” She actually split her thoughts over two tweets, so I stitched them together for your reading convenience. Click on down and you’ll find these fine critiques along with John Favreau’s early morning Mexican cravings and Rainn Wilson’s run-in with George Foreman.

Mandy Moore finds therapy "freeing". The singer started counselling sessions last year and says it has enabled her to talk through her problems without boring her friends. She said: "You go in thinking, 'Wow, I have nothing to talk about. Where is this hour going to go? And before you know it, time's up. I don't have to burden my friends with the same things over and over again, and it's fascinating to get an unbiased point of view, to not feel like anybody would judge you. It's very freeing." Mandy also revealed she has a inking of a baby sperm after an impromptu visit to a tattoo parlour with her band. The 25-year-old beauty - who secretly wed

Since winning our lesbian hearts over in films like Imagine Me and You (and possibly farther back, if you loved the dramatics of Lost and Delirious or the bar dancing in Coyote Ugly), Piper Perabo hasn't always made the best career choices.
There was that awful waste of a great cast, Because I Said So, where she starred as one of Diane Keaton's daughters, alongside Mandy Moore and Lauren Graham. (Yes, it still sucked.)
Then there was Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Enough said.
But now I'm feeling as if Piper is back on the right track, as The Hollywood Reporter writes that she's been cast as the lead in the new show Covert Affairs. She'll play Annie Walker, as an ass-kicking CIA trainee who speaks six languages and "excels at any endeavor she undertakes." Yes, that sounds like a great role her.
The show will be a pilot for the USA Network,

Mandy Moore wasn't sure she ever wanted to be married - until she met her now-husband Ryan Adams. But before she fell for the fellow singer, "I didn't know if marriage was something that was super important to me," Moore, 25, tells Women's Health. When she finally decided to go through with it, "I didn't take the decision lightly. I ventured into it realistically. But life takes you places you wouldn't have expected. I'm really content with what was in the cards for me."Especially when it comes to Adams, 34, someone she calls "my best friend, someone I have so much respect for.

Update: Check out our Jeff Goldblum photo gallery for some great shots of the actor throughout his career!
The last 24 hours have been about a week long in Twitter-Wood. After two unplanned updates with reactions to Michael Jackson’s death, I’m back with some regularly scheduled programming.
First off, the best news of the last day is that Jeff Goldblum is not dead. Kevin Spacey set the record straight on his Twitter account, and several others reacted as that rumor brushfire was extinguished. We’ve also got Tom Felton continuing his commentary behind the scenes at “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows,” Mandy Moore looking for someone to play “Battletech” with, and much more after the click.
@jonhurwitz As surreal as this day is for everyone else, I bet it’s extra surreal for Jeff Goldblum.

Mere hours after Michael Jackson’s death in Los Angeles, nearly everyone in the Twitter-Wood feed has already logged on to tweet their reactions to the loss of the King of Pop. While details surrounding this evening’s events are still coming to light, I wanted to assemble a special report that demonstrates how big of a role his contributions from “Thriller” to “Captain Eo” have played in the popular culture we all share.
Below are the sincere thoughts and responses to today’s news as tweeted by “Twilight” cast members, directors, and other Hollywood luminaries, including Mandy Moore, John Cusack, Miley Cyrus and many, many others.
@RachelleLefevre Rest in peace Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson. Condolences to their families.

Hate the Jonas Brothers? You're not alone—but there’s hope for them yet. Lots of artists have made the leap from teen heartthrob to legitimate musician. J. Edward Keyes, in Rolling Stone, breaks them down: The Beatles: It’s easy to forget now, but their pre- Rubber Soul stuff wasn’t exactly cutting-edge art. Justin Timberlake : These days he’s great on SNL , but need we recount the ‘NSync and (wince) Mickey Mouse Club years? Christina Aguilera: The reviews were brutal, but Stripped turned her career around. Now she’s “one of the finest singers of our generation.” Mandy Moore: Grew from a Britney/Christina ...

It’s a relatively quiet week for new releases. There’s Regina Spektor’s follow-up to her breakout, a new album from the Mars Volta and the latest from Pete Yorn. But today also sees the release of A Casual Affair: The Best of Tonic.
This begs the question: Huh?
For anybody who didn’t come of age in the Clinton years, Tonic had a big radio hit in 1996 with a tune called “If You Could Only See.” After that, they basically fell off the map (save for a few appearances on various soundtracks to the “American Pie” movies). The set contains that single plus a bunch of other songs that never quite got there. Even if you allow that “You Wanted More” and “Open Up Your Eyes” were “hits,” that’s still only three tunes on a 15-track album. Three songs is an Ep, not a $15 album.
But this

I just got done listening to Mandy Moore’s latest single “I Could Break Your Heart Any Day Of The Week” and I cant believe I can’t get a refund on that 3 minutes and 15 seconds of my life. The only good thing about this song was the video and even that was a little cheesy and disappointing. Through the whole video it shows off some really cool slow-mo shots of people getting their asses kicked, while Mandy Moore sits on the side lines badly lip syncing the song, wearing a curious looking trench coat. Sounds kinda cool, right? (except for the bad lip-syncing). Then walks in Ufc superstar, “The Iceman” [...]

'Mariah-freakin'-Carey is gonna rule the summer,' one commenter says of Mariah's new single 'Obsessed.'

On Wednesday, I presented my picks for the Summer Jam of 2009 in my Bigger Than the Sound column (hint: get ready to hear a lot of Mariah while you tan). I got a lot of feedback from you guys about the piece, and for once, it wasn't all overwhelmingly negative or written in All Caps.
Actually, a lot of it was pretty great. Seems you guys care a whole lot about the Summer Jam Sweepstakes, perhaps even more than I do. You guys picked songs both obvious (Britney Spears' "Radar." A lot.) and, uh, not-so-obvious (something from Mandy Moore?!?). And some of you got really mad that I made fun of Wiccans too. Regardless, I got so many great suggestions that I decided

Tyrese Gibson should be given some kind of medal from the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” PR team, because his volume of TwitPic output since the film’s numerous international premieres began has been epic. Today was no exception, as he posted some candid shots of his fellow cast members, including his lovely co-star Megan Fox.
Miley Cyrus was busy posting pics of her own as she began shooting for her new film “The Last Song.” Today in Twitter-Wood we also learned that Mandy Moore possibly dabbles in Dungeons & Dragons and that Brea Grant plans to appear in an upcoming FunnyOrDie.com short. I’m @brianwarmoth, and here is your Twitter-Wood report for June 16, 2009.

Thanks to the magic of Twitter, Jon Favreau once again offered an “Iron Man 2” filming location report today as another business week kicked into gear in Hollywood, and on the Twitter-Wood feed as well. In addition to getting to know some film preferences from Nicole Richie and Meagan Good, Alyssa Milano chimed in with her favorite post-workout menu item, and Rainn Wilson showed off a pictures of his dog.
As usual, the feed today proved to be a smorgasbord of celeb show-and-tell with a few behind-the-scenes tips, and a lot of information you never would have picked up elsewhere, such as how Frankie Muniz feels about the city of Newark and which part of Mandy Moore’s body hurt after a busy morning. I’m @brianwarmoth and this is Twitter-Wood for June 15, 2009.

From actor to writer to director. Justin Theroux, who first started out as an actor and starred in David Lynch's two most recent films, is set to direct his second feature, titled Chief Ron, for Universal. After directing the Mandy Moore indie drama Dedication in 2007, Theroux ended up co-writing Tropic Thunder with Ben Stiller. When that became a huge hit, he was hired by Marvel to help write the screenplay for Iron Man 2. Now he's back in the director's seat with Chief Ron, a comedy about a conman who claims he's Mohegan in an attempt to open a casino. I'm already digging the concept and I barely know what it's about. Chief Ron is actually inspired by the true story of Chief Ron Roberts. "His blonde hair and blue eyes raised skepticism over his ancestral claims," but he prevailed in court and is now building a casino in

Did the kids who just won Tony Awards for Billy Elliott on Broadway ever have to endure this kind of criticism from a director? "Stop, stop, stop! It's 'toward.' Who is singing 'towards'? ... If you put an 's' on it, it makes it cheap, it makes it sound like you're from Long Island. Nothing against Long Islands ..." Thus begins Stagedoor, a documentary about a summer camp with superstar alumni such as Robert Downey, Jr., Natalie Portman, Mandy Moore, Bryce Howard, Zach Braff, Amy Ryan, Jon Cryer, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Felicity Huffman, and director Shawn Levy. Our friends at SnagFilms have made the film available for free online viewing.

“So You Think You Can Dance” is the best reality competition show ever. Sure, I’m touted as MTV News’ “American Idol” expert, and sure, I get paid to do “Idol in 60 Seconds” recaps every season, but deep down inside, I just wanna “Dance.”
I’m not going to rehash the reasons why I think “Sytycd” is a superior show to “AI” — especially since my old colleague Lindsey Thomas did it perfectly last summer. Instead, I’m here to beg all of you to start watching and make this season the highest rated yet. I have no stock in the show. Hell, it’s on a rival network. I just think the world will be a better place if, instead of gossiping about Miley and Jason’s breakup, we discussed the finer points of Napoleon and Tabitha’s latest lyrical hip-hop routine.
Before you start getting all, “But I don’t know anything about dance,

Zac Efron will join the illustrious ranks of celebrities who've had cameos on "Entourage," when he makes an appearance this season.
MTV News has confirmed that Efron, whose just won the MTV Movie Award for Best Performance Male for "High School Musical 3," will have a cameo in an episode of the show's sixth season, which kicks off July 12. An HBO rep told MTV that, like Mandy Moore in the past, Efron will be playing himself, although no other details about his plot were revealed.
On Tuesday, Efron was seen filming the cameo at Niketown in Beverly Hills, E! Newsreports. The crew, along with the "17 Again" star, arrived around 9 a.m., before the store opened, to shoot the scene.
"He was filming a scene and talking on his cell phone," one

Singer/actress calls Amanda Leigh 'the record I've always wanted to make.'

More than 10 years ago, a slew of young stars hit the pop charts. Although the queen bees were Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, back then, Mandy Moore held her own with hits like "Candy" and "I Wanna Be With You."
With Spears and Aguilera continually reinventing themselves but staying true to what Moore considers their "formula," the singer/actress has moved on with a throwback to a " '70s sort of Southern California pop sound" on her new album, Amanda Leigh.
"I kind of always knew we would all differentiate ourselves from one another," she told MTV News. "Musically, they've stuck to a formula that works for them and, obviously, has always proven successful. I don't think I found that same success singing music that really, at the end of the day,

“Merrimack River,” the opening song on Mandy Moore’s sixth album, Amanda Leigh, offers a sly look at her former life as a teen confection—back when her first hit, 1999’s “Candy,” was in daily rotation on Total Request Live, and long before she showed up on Entourage, posed for a Cosmo cover, and married Ryan Adams. “Candy-coated promise, just out of reach when you want it,” she sings, over an elegiac string arrangement of the sort employed by Alison Krauss. It’s pretty—and pretty boring. Every subsequent song on Amanda Leigh, no matter the tempo or mood ...
