Pierre Mondy was born on February 10, 1925 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Seine [now Hauts-de-Seine], France as Pierre Cuq. He is known for his work on Les Cordier, juge et flic (1992), Astérix et la surprise de César (1985) and Astérix chez les Bretons (1986). He was married to Catherine Allary, Anne Fournier, Pascale Roberts and Claude Gensac. He died on September 15, 2012 in Paris, France.

Father of Laurent Mondy.
Stocky French stage and screen actor, long with the Théâtre du Palais Royal in Paris. On screen, he was best known for his role as Napoleon Bonaparte in Abel Gance's 1960 film "Austerlitz". He later acted in a series of popular comedies. Mondy was also a playwright and stage director.
