Aquaman Star Seemingly Confirms The Film’s Departure From DC Canon

Looks like The Aquaman Shrine was bang on point.

Just yesterday, sources close to the outlet alleged that King Nereus and Mera – played by Dolph Lundgren and Amber Heard, respectively – will be introduced as father and daughter in Warner’s Aquaman movie, not star-crossed lovers.

It’s a big departure from DC canon, though not a surprising one when you take the sizeable age gap between Lundgren (60) and Heard (31) into account. And sure enough, the former recently spoke to Las Vegas Review-Journal (h/t ComingSoon.net) about his Dceu debut, which will seemingly involve playing the regal father to Queen Mera.

“It is good to be king. Basically, I try to keep the peace down there along with Amber Heard, who plays my daughter. She’s trying to convince me to join the right side. Then you have Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother. We’re trying to avoid war

Aquaman: Lundgren Reveals Major Change to Mera, Nereus Relationship

Justice League hinted at Jason Momoa’s Atlantean heritage as Aquaman, but it also put Arthur Curry on a collision course with Amber Heard’s Mera, the woman destined to be the love of his life. With James Wan’s Aquaman set to dive deeper into their dynamic, fans now have a twist on their hands in Mera’s ties to King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren), whose relationship with her has been changed drastically from the comics.

J.K. Simmons Hasn’t Met With Matt Reeves About The Batman Yet

In many ways, Justice League was like an appetizer for what’s to come in the DC Extended Universe. Assuming all goes well, we’ll get to know the likes of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s Flash and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg a lot better in many more movies to come. Another new face it introduced though was J.K. Simmons’ take on Commissioner Gordon, who fans can’t wait to meet properly in the upcoming Dark Knight standalone The Batman.

Not that things are moving very fast on that front, mind you. Simmons was talking to Collider recently when the subject of further appearances for Jim Gordon came up. The actor revealed that he hasn’t yet had any contact with Matt Reeves, who’s helming the Bat’s standalone pic, though he is looking forward to “expanding a little bit” on his iteration of the iconic character.

Rumour: “Unwatchable” rough cut of Justice League led to Zack Snyder being fired

Despite being three months out from its release, Warner Bros.Justice League is still grabbing a lot of headlines, with a report this week claiming that Warner Bros. fired Zack Snyder from the DC blockbuster several months before his official exit from the movie.

While this is unconfirmed, the folks at Collider have now shared some further alleged details about the situation, claiming that the decision to part ways with the filmmaker was made after he delivered an “unwatchable” rough cut of the movie. The article doesn’t clarify whether it was “unwatchable” because it was bad, or if perhaps it strayed too far from the “lightened” tone that the studio was going for after the mixed reception to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but apparently it led to the decision to hire Joss Whedon to oversee major rewrites and reshoots.

Now, this could all be speculation, but it

‘The Crow Reborn’ Set To Begin Pre-Production

Many fans of “The Crow” have had mixed opinions about the upcoming reboot of the original film tentatively titled “The Crow Reborn”. Some feel that the studio should just leave well enough alone, while others are incredibly excited to see what can be done to bring this iconic character back to life.

The upcoming reboot is said to begin filming in February of 2018 after the project was resurrected by Sony Pictures after it was dropped by Relativity Media back in early 2017. It has all but been completely confirmed that Jason Momoa will be taking on the role of the title character Eric Draven and that author James O’Barr who created the original “The Crow” comic book series will most definitely be heavily involved.

There has been some that are criticizing Momoa as the choice to play Draven, as many feel that it would be impossible for anyone to possibly

First Aquaman Trailer Isn't Coming as Soon as Rumored

Earlier this week, composer Carlos Villalobos Jr. made a bold claim on Instagram, revealing that he was working on the score for the new Aquaman trailer, hinting that the first footage was coming soon. That post was later deleted, leading some to wonder why, when director James Wan himself revealed that Carlos Villalobos Jr. isn't actually working on the trailer. Here's what director James Wan had to say in a reply to the fan site Jason Momoa News, who mentioned the post's disappearance.

"Because he has nothing to do with our trailer at all. Don't know who this dude is. Well, he's totally allowed to do anything he wants, but that doesn't mean people should pick up any random stuff out on the internet as news."

Since the Aquaman release is still 10 months away, it's not terribly surprising that a trailer isn't ready yet, but still there is no indication

How Soon Is the Aquaman Trailer Coming?

How Soon Is the Aquaman Trailer Coming?
Could the Aquaman trailer be arriving soon? While we may need some more evidence to declare that to definitely be the case, it looks like Warner Bros. is starting the marketing campaign for this one pretty early. It's still unclear as to when the trailer will release, but composer Carlos Villalobos Jr. dropped a not-so-subtle hint on social media recently indicating that he's working on scoring the Aquaman trailer right now. Though, the post was later deleted without reason this morning. That being the case, it's not unreasonable to assume this means the trailer could be arriving soon. The question is, when?

Carlos Villalobos Jr. took to Instagram to share a photo of his studio while working on his current project, which, based on his caption and some of what can be seen in the photo, is clearly the Aquaman trailer. On the monitor in his studio, there's a clear

Aquaman Composer Teases First Trailer Coming Soon

In relation to the traditional marketing of the average Dceu film, Aquaman is technically already late. The trailers for three of the five movies currently in the franchise arrived a full year before their official release dates and, though we are now just ten months away from the Atlantean’s December solo movie debut, we’ve yet to see anything resembling a promotional snippet. It’s definitely on its way, though, as an Instagram post from the film’s composer confirms.

Carlos Villalobos shared this week that he was in “trailer scoring heaven,” along with an image of his equipment and a screen showing a shot of Jason Momoa in full superhero mode. The inclusion of “aquaman” as a hashtag leaves no room for doubt as to which trailer the composer is specifically referencing and we imagine it’s just a matter of time before some footage swims online.

Aquaman’s First Trailer May Be Arriving Soon

Is Warner Bros. Releasing An Aquaman Trailer Soon?

A new Instagram post may suggest that the first Aquaman trailer might be coming soon. The upcoming superhero flick – directed by James Wan (The Conjuring) and Will Beall (Venom, Gangster Squad), and starring Jason Momoa as the eponymous superhero – is the only Dceu film slated to hit theaters in 2018, and it’s releasing over a year after the character’s official debut in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Jason Momoa Could Wear Comic Accurate Costume In Aquaman

Jason Momoa’s casting as Aquaman caused quite the stir when the former Game of Thrones actor was announced to be playing the King of Atlantis back in 2014. Thankfully, he mostly won over DC fans with his great performance in Justice League and now, everyone’s seemingly on board for his own solo movie this December. As an added bonus, though, it looks like Aquaman will steer Momoa’s interpretation back towards the classic comic book character.

The Aquaman Shrine is reporting that an attendee from a recent Warner Bros. licensing event told them that a costume from Aquaman was unveiled which was a perfect match for the “modern comics version.” This is actually just the latest piece of evidence that suggests this, as an image of an early model for an upcoming action figure dropped online a while back, featuring a traditional Aquaman suit and three-pronged trident (as opposed

Rumour: Zack Snyder was reportedly fired from DC Films prior to his Justice League exit

Back in May of last year it was announced that Zack Snyder had decided to step down from as director of Justice League owing to the tragic suicide of his daughter, with Warner Bros. enlisting Joss Whedon to come in and complete the DC superhero blockbuster.

Well, if a new report from Mashable editor Josh L. Dickey is to be believed, it seems that Snyder had already been relieved Snyder of his DC Films duties prior to this official exit, with Dickey claiming that Snyder was actually fired from the Dceu a little over a year ago. At present, there’s nothing in the way of evidence to support these claims, and as such, they should be treated as a rumour.

Since I'm shifting into Dgaf mode, here's a hot one for ya: Zack Snyder was fired from the Dceu just over 1 year ago. Couldn't write it ~quite~ that way at the time,

Unearthed Justice League Mortal Concept Art Reveals Superman, Batman And Much More

Even though I’m someone who walked away from the Justice League movie that we eventually received with a smile on my face, there’s no way I’m going to say that it was perfect or was the complete package that my favorite characters deserved. Actually, I find myself conflicted because while I do love some of the actors that populate the landscape that makes up the DC Extended Universe such as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa, every little bit of trivia surrounding the canned Justice League Mortal forces me to believe that it’d have been the better product.

The latest round of declassified info is some of the best this writer has seen in the time that has passed in the decade or so since the ax came down. Really, aside from seeing Megan Gale in her Wonder Woman regalia, we never had
