‘Sherlock’ season 4 trailer unveiled at Comic Con

11 hours ago | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

The Sherlock season 4 trailer has been unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con. During its traditional Sunday slot, Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes), Amanda Abbington (Mary Watson), Mark Gatiss (co-creator/executive producer/writer), Steven Moffat (co-creator/executive producer/writer), and Sue Vertue (producer) all took to the stage to take part in a special Q+A before unleashing the new trailer to the 7000 + crowd.

Cumberbatch, who also appeared at the Doctor Strange panel the night before, was a surprise at the Sherlock panel as he wasn’t originally scheduled to appear.

“Something’s coming, maybe it’s Moriarty, maybe it’s not, but something’s coming”.

Sherlock will return to PBS in the Us and the BBC in the UK later this year. Check out the new trailer below.

Did You Miss Me? First Sherlock Season 4 Teaser Unveils A Familiar Threat

24 July 2016 12:09 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Professor Moriarty, the wicked and conniving trickster that has tormented Benedict Cumberbatch’s ingenious detective from the off, looks set to make his return in the eerie first trailer for Sherlock season 4.

Ramping up the stakes for Cumberbatch’s titular lead and his old confidant, John Watson (Martin Freeman), the beautifully shot teaser culminates with a scene of what we assume to be Moriarty from behind. Of course, it’s all conjecture until the new season premieres later this year, but the mere presence of Andrew Scott’s fan-favourite villain will surely turn Sherlock’s world on its head. That, or the good doctor has been spending too much time in that mind palace of his.

When quizzed about the long-term prospects of the show, co-creator Steven Moffat conceded that the rising stock of both Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman has resulted in more scheduling conflicts, which could cast doubt over »

Sherlock's New Season 4 Trailer Is Here and You Should Be Very Worried

24 July 2016 11:44 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Something's coming. We'll have to wait until 2017 for full episodes, but we don't have to wait at all for a new look at the fourth season of Sherlock, thanks to the show's panel at San Diego Comic Con. Stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Amanda Abbington joined executive producers Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat, and Sue Vertue on Sunday morning to debut a brand new trailer for the miniseries. It features the return of Moriarty and a whole lot of Sherlock looking more worried than we've ever seen him. And that's about it, because that panel wasn't sharing anything. While we got very few details about the series, we did get a couple of tidbits. First of all, thinks are getting' »

‘Sherlock’ Sdcc Panel Offers a Look at the Detective Drama’s Gloriously Foreboding 4th Season

Officially it’s been over two years since the last season of “Sherlock” ended,  although the one-off Victorian-era special was a fun diversion. But during today’s Comic-Con Panel, we at last we got our first glimpse of “Sherlock” Season 4 with a new trailer. Take a look:

Another treat for “Sherlock” fans was on the stage itself. In one of the worst-kept secrets of Comic-Con, Benedict Cumberbatch showed up for his first “Sherlock” panel (since he’s often too busy shooting on one of his many films to appear). Then again, anyone aware that he was at the “Doctor Strange” panel the day before could have figured out he’d likely be present, and he also revealed this news on Twitter:

The latest look at new episodes of “Sherlock” are here, and “everything they know will be tested” in the fourth series of the BBC hit, the teaser warns.

Fans at the British mystery show’s Comic-Con panel were treated to the first trailer for the fourth series, along with being joined by stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Amanda Abbington, co-creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and producer Sue Vertue. The new look seemed to be more action-filled than past installments, and intoned that “Something’s coming. Maybe it’s Moriarty, maybe it’s not. But something’s coming.”

Cumberbatch returns as Detective Sherlock Holmes, joined by his best friend Dr. John Watson, played by Martin Freeman. The show last left off with Andrew Scott’s villainous Moriarty seemingly coming back to life after shooting himself in the face. Holmes, however, figured out in the 2016 Christmas special, “The Abominable Bride,” that Moriarty is in fact dead — but that doesn »

Sherlock: BBC Show Creator Unsure About Season Five

19 July 2016 2:54 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Every fairy tale needs a good old-fashioned villain. The Sherlock TV series will not be cancelled by BBC One and PBS. Still showrunner Steven Moffat, who created Sherlock with Mark Gatiss (Mycroft Holmes), says it is possible the upcoming fourth season may be Sherlock's last. The Telegraph reports Moffat said star Benedict Cumberbatch is in such high demand that he has probably continued to make new seasons of the Sherlock TV show out of loyalty to fans. The Telegraph quotes Moffat as saying, "I don’t know how long we can keep it going. I’m personally willing but I’m hardly the main draw. I would be moderately surprised if this was the last time we ever made this show. But it absolutely could be." Sherlock Season 4 Could Wrap Up BBC’s Spy Drama; New Image Reveals A Canine Companion

15 July 2016 12:53 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

221b Baker Street will swing open its doors early next year with the fourth season of Sherlock, BBC’s critically-adorned spy series that places Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, but could it herald the show’s swan song? According to co-creator Steven Moffat, “it absolutely could be.”

Word comes by way of the Telegraph, where Moffat touched base on Sherlock season 4 ahead of its bow in 2017. Talk inevitably turned to its leading duo, Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, with Moffat conceding that he’s frankly surprised the BBC was able to secure both actors for a fourth season.

Alas, it’s a conundrum that has only become more pressing with each passing season, as Freeman and Cumberbatch’s star power continues to grow exponentially through big-budget blockbusters in the vein of Doctor Strange. Scheduling headaches have presented a problem in the past – it’s part of the reason Moffat and »

Moffat Says "Doctor Who" S7 Was The Worst

1 July 2016 8:05 AM, PDT | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

BBC's sci-fi stalwart "Doctor Who" ran for twenty-six seasons during its initial run, while the revival series has racked up an impressive nine seasons to date along with numerous specials and a tenth season on the way early next year.

Current showrunner Steven Moffat has been in charge of the 'Who' revival since the fifth season, the first year that Matt Smith took on the role. During that time he's also been in charge of the BBC's "Sherlock" which has led to him being frequently very busy. Though he's tried to keep both shows going as smoothly as possible, he admits that of the years he's worked on the show that it was the seventh season spread across 2012 and 2013 that were the nadir of his time on the show. He explained to Doctor Who Magazine (via Cult Box) it was a case of simply taking on too much:

Doctor Who: Steven Moffat says series 7 was "miserable"

Rob Leane Jun 30, 2016

"I didn't enjoy my third year as much", says Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat on the topic of series 7...

Doctor Who Magazine has found showrunner Steven Moffat in a reflective mood of late. Yesterday we shared the story that Moffat thinks he "fumbled" the series 9 opener, and now we've got another nugget of The Moff's self-criticism to share.

Dwm asked Mr Moffat about series 7, which you'll remember as the one with a "movie of the week" theme, a big gap in the middle and the companion handover between the Ponds and Clara Oswald.

"I didn’t enjoy my third year as much. It was a bit miserable," a very candid Moff revealed. "The workload was just insane. I wasn’t coping as well. No-one else’s fault, all mine. The 50th was looming, and I didn’t know if we could make it work. It was a tough, »

Welcome to Geeks Vs Loneliness. This is our place on the site where we stop for a minute, and try and natter about things that may be affecting you, or people you know. As always, we don’t have magical solutions, much though we wish we had. Furthermore, not everything we write here is going to be helpful to everyone who reads it. But hopefully, across the series, there’s something that can help. If nothing else, know there’s a wonderful community of people in the comments who want to talk and help, and that – for what it’s worth – us behind these words are rooting for you.

Let us stop for some hugs.

Moving on. Earlier this year, Anne Brown wrote to us. Her daughter is nearly 16, and is, »

“First episodes are tough, and I feel as though I slightly fumbled it last year", says Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat...

Doctor Who series 9 opened with The Magician's Apprentice, an episode that had rather a lot going for it which we reviewed rather positively. But showrunner Steven Moffat - who penned the episode - isn't happy with how this one turned out.

Moffat has told Doctor Who Magazine that, “First episodes are tough, and I feel as though I slightly fumbled it last year by not having a ‘new thing’ in The Magician’s Apprentice.”

The Moff added: “It was the same Doctor, same companion… You want to persuade people to tune in because a brand new thing is happening.”

Mr Moffat is keen to make sure this doesn't happen again. “We’ll introduce [the new companion, Bill] in the first episode of 2017, and she’ll run through that series”, he explained. »

Timothy Dalton’s Rassilon was meant to appear in last year’s series finale, but the actor wasn’t available...

The Doctor finally returned to Gallifrey in Doctor Who season 9’s two-part finale, Heaven Sent/Hell Bent. Rassilon appeared in the second part, for the first time since 2010’s David Tennant-dispatching special The End Of Time Part 2. But the grumbly senior Time Lord didn’t look like Timothy Dalton anymore. He looked a lot more like Game Of Thrones star Donald Sumpter.

Many fans have wondered whether Mr Dalton ever came to close to appearing in the episode, and the exact reasons why he didn’t return to reprise his role. Now we have answers to both of those questions.

Rachel Talalay – who directed both segments of the finale – said this to the Radio Free Skaro podcast: “At first we did check to see if Timothy Dalton »
