Good morning! Pride may be over, but we can still be proud year-round.
SyFy loves our use of #Gayliens so much, they used it in this Best Defiance moments countdown.
Juliet Rylance has been cast as a "possible love interest" for Kalinda on The Good Wife. She'll be playing "Holly, a whip-smart Assistant State’s Attorney who shares a past with Kalinda." Yay! I love Kalinda's GFs from the past.

This TV show is set in the sprawling mecca of the rich, famous, and powerful players in Los Angeles. Ray Donovan is their go-to guy when they need their problems to disappear. It's not an easy job but things get more difficult when his father is unexpectedly released from prison.
Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) is a man of many faces. He's a cool, sophisticated Hollywood player but also a ruthless south Boston thug. He's a devoted family man who has trouble resisting come-ons from attractive »
There's something both frustrating and fascinating about the way Showtime's classy but surprisingly dull new drama "Ray Donovan" aspires to greatness.
It's as if someone collected the right ingredients -- an impressive and eclectic ensemble cast, a distinguished creative team, a network that supports and encourages adult storytelling -- but lacked the creative inspiration necessary to combine them into something truly extraordinary. The result is a strange imitation of top tier TV drama. It looks, sounds and feels right, but the flavor isn't there -- you know you've had better.
"Donovan" stars Liev Schreiber in the title role, TV's latest straight white male anti-hero with anger issues and a sensitive side just waiting to surface. It's Schreiber's first series regular role and ostensibly gives him quite a lot to do since Ray is the anchor for the show's multiple areas of interest.

The Showtime drama series Ray Donovan, with actor Liev Schreiber in the title role, is about the go-to guy of the rich and famous, who makes the problems of L.A.’s celebrities, superstar athletes and business moguls disappear. To further complicate his already far too complicated life, his murderous low-life father, played by Oscar-winner Jon Voight, is unexpectedly released from prison, setting off a chain of events that threatens to destroy everything Ray has built for himself. The show also stars Paula Malcomson, Steven Bauer, Elliott Gould, Dash Mihok, Eddie Marsan, Pooch Hall and Katherine Moennig. During this exclusive interview with Collider, actress Paula Malcomson (Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy, The Hunger Games) talked about why Ray Donovan appealed to her, her desire to play strong characters, getting a sense of who Abby Donovan is, what it’s been like to work with Jon Voight, and how easily swearing comes for her. »

Is the best writer to explore male issues a woman? If she's Ann Biderman, maybe so.
On Sunday, June 30, Biderman returns to television with the premiere of Showtime's "Ray Donovan," starring Liev Schreiber as a two-fisted "fixer" in Los Angeles cleaning up the messes of out-of-control celebrities, superstar athletes and business executives.
At the same time, Donovan is also trying to protect his wife (Paula Malcolmson) and children (Devon Bagby, Kerris Dorsey) from his father, Mickey (Jon Voight), who unexpectedly gets out of prison in Boston and lands on his son's doorstep.
Chicago – “I like you. You say what you mean.” Showtime’s brilliant new show, “Ray Donovan,” is titled after a straightshooter in a town where no one is honest; a problem solver in a place built on mountains of problems. Ann Biderman’s stunning drama (directed and produced by “Sopranos” vet Allen Coulter) is the kind of dense patchwork quilt of character and theme that separate great shows from merely good ones. Think “Deadwood,” “The Wire,” or “The Sopranos” — shows to which this could eventually merit comparison. As Biderman proved with “Southland,” she has incredible skill at developing ensemble and this is one of the best on TV, toplined by a surprisingly subtle turn from Liev Schreiber in the lead but filled out by great actors throughout.
Television Rating: 4.5/5.0

Showtime released the pilot of their new series Ray Donovan online last week, but if you haven't watched it yet, you can see it on your TV this Sunday night when it premieres at 10 p.m. The show stars Liev Schreiber as "the go-to guy who makes the problems of the city's celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls disappear." You might have guessed he doesn't do all of this in accordance with the law, and he also doesn't work alone. Kate Moennig plays Lena, Ray's assistant, who fields Ray's calls at any time of day or night and responds to request of helping to cover up unexpected deaths by saying "I hate when that happens."
Lena is described as "a no-nonsense lesbian who is both sexy and tough" that does research for Ray and handles his office work. This might sound boring, »

Good Morning! It really is an awesome morning with the striking down of Doma as unconstitutional and saying "Peace out, Prop 8!" I'm feeling all:

I just do that with lesbians, like "come on, you’re not that lesbian. For heaven’s sake, you’re just being difficult now." She’s in a happy relationship, isn’t she? I won’t rest, until every lesbian relationship in Britain has been disrupted by an unwelcome boorish Essex boy.
I'm so sure that all the lesbians in the land are like "I guess I could try it with this loud, hairy British man."

Showtime was nice enough to put the entire first episode of Ray Donovan online so you can meet the many characters who make up the new series. There are so many great actors that are part of the show, but we especially like that Kate Moennig is a part of the cast as Lena, Ray's assistant. (And she's gay!)
Here's the basic premise: Ray (Liev Schreiber) lives in Hollywood where he helps "make the problems of the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls disappear." But when his dad (Jon Voight) Is unexpectedly released from prison, things get even crazier than they usually are for Ray, Lena and everyone else involved in this seedy world.
Ray Donovan premieres in all its Nsfw glory on Showtime Sunday, June 30 at 10 p.m. Est/Pt.

Showtime has posted the pilot for its upcoming series Ray Donovan, and it has all the markings of a fancy cable drama: dead naked women, a few prestige stars (here, Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight), and plenty of dark underbelly. Schreiber stars as an L.A. fixer whose life gets all mixed up when his no-good father (Voight, duh) gets released from prison and starts coming around. Deadwood's Paula Malcomson plays Schrieber's wife; House's Peter Jacobson plays one of his seedy associates; The L Word's Katherine Moennig plays one of his loyal employees; and terrible, terrible, terrible Boston accents play a major supporting role. »
