- Dieter Moebius was born on January 16, 1944 in St. Gallen, Switzerland. He was a composer and set decorator, known for Suspiria (2018), Sightseers (2012) and And Your Mother Too (2001). He was married to Irene Möbius. He died on July 20, 2015 in Germany.

- He grew up listening to classical music; his mother was a pianist. He was fascinated by the rock'n'roll of Chuck Berry and the art-house style of bands like the Velvet Underground. He studied art in Brussels and West Berlin, where he became part of the new Krautrock movement that combined heavy synth with minimalist arrangements.
- He was a pioneer in electronic music and co-founder of the Krautrock groups Cluster and Harmonia.
