Brother Gerald Imes publicly apologized to her on The Oprah Winfrey Show (1986) for molesting his sister when they were children. He revealed during his appearance that he himself was molested and was drinking alcohol and using drugs by the time he was 11 and that he started to molest Mo'Nique when he was 13 and she was 7/8 for about a year.
