Willie Mitchell was born on March 1, 1928 in Ashland, Mississippi, USA. He was a composer, known for Hellboy (2004), Munich (2005) and Pulp Fiction (1994). He was married to Anna Margaret Buckley. He died on January 5, 2010 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA.
He ran an eponymous club on Beale Street in Memphis for many years.
He started out as a session musician, playing trumpet and keyboards.
He arranged and produced several hit songs recorded by Al Green and others on the Hi record label. They worked together on "Let's Stay Together", "I'm Still in Love with You", "You Ought to Be with Me" and "Tired of Being Alone".
