Summer Glau joins TNT's 'Scent of the Missing'

Summer Glau has joined the cast of TNT's Scent of the Missing. The drama pilot will follow Susannah (Tricia Helfer), a K-9 Search and Rescue volunteer who solves crimes with her golden retriever Puzzle. Glau will play a beautiful but tough member of Susannah's team, according to Deadline. The actress previously starred in short-lived NBC drama The Cape and also appeared in Fox shows Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Niecy Nash To Star In TV Land’s Cedric Pilot, Summer Glau Joins TNT’s ‘Scent’

Exclusive: Niecy Nash has landed the female lead opposite Cedric the Entertainer in his TV Land pilot, a spinoff from hit comedy Hot In Cleveland. Meanwhile, former Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Summer Glau and Daryl Mitchell (Brothers) have joined TNT’s drama pilot Scent Of The Missing. Written by Hot In Cleveland creator Suzanne Martin, the spinoff follows Cedric’s character Reverend Boyce as he moves to St. Louis and has to balance his wild past with the expectations of his congregation and his family. Reno 911! alumna Nash, repped by Wme and Principato-Young, will play his wife. Martin and Cedric wrote the pilot and are executive producing with Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner. Playback Acquired by Magnet Releasing

Magnet Releasing has announced it will distribute the horror-thriller Playback. The studio has also released the first photo from the thriller, which you can take a look at below. You can read the full press release below this new photo of Christian Slater from Playback.

The Wagner/Cuban Company's Magnet Releasing, genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, announced today they have acquired Us rights to Playback, a frightening horror film featuring Christian Slater, directed by Michael A. Nickles.

Magnet will release Playback through its Ultra VOD program in February, launching the film on all digital VOD platforms prior to its theatrical release in March.

While digging into their town's infamous past, a group of high school students unwittingly unlock a dark secret, unleashing an evil spirit that takes possession of its victims. In addition to Slater, the film stars Toby Hemingway, Johnny Pacar and Ambyr Childers.

Christian Slater Stars in this First Trailer for Supernatural Thriller Playback

There is a new trailer for Michael A. Nickles Playback, which stars Christian Slater, Johnny Pacar and Ambyr Childers. Slater plays a corrupt cop, who harasses locals at a nearby high school. A supernatural element comes into play, that "destroys its victims through video playback" (IGN). Check out the first trailer for this thriller, which will release shortly.
