1980s: Hosted a documentary on the history of Intercontinental Packers, a meat-packing business run by his children. The film was produced for CFQC TV in Saskatoon, Canada, location of IP's head office.

Unsold pilot: In 1959 he starred in an unsold western pilot called "I Am A Lawyer". It concerned the adventures of a two-fisted Texas attorney.

Stage: Played "Happy" in the original 1949 Broadway production of Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman", which he also played in the first film version (Death of a Salesman (1951)).
