Disney Junior has announced that James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek), Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) and Isabella Crovetti (Colony) will lend their voices to a vampire family in the upcoming animated series Vampirina.
Van Der Beek and Graham will voice the roles of Vampirina’s parents Boris and Oxana Hauntley, while Crovetti is Vampirina (a.k.a. Vee), a lovable young vampire girl, who is facing the joys and trials of being the new kid in town when her family moves from Transylvania to Pennsylvania.
The recurring guest voice cast includes Broadway performers Patti LuPone (Evita) and Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me, Kate) as Vee’s grandparents, Nanpire and Grandpop, and Wanda Sykes (Black-ish) as Vampirina’s cantankerous yet loyal gargoyle sidekick Gregoria.

Lauren Graham is joining a new TV family — and this one’s got bite.
The Gilmore Girls star will lend her voice to Disney Junior’s Vampirina, the story of a young vampire (Colony‘s Isabella Crovetti) who learns to adjust to city life after relocating from her hometown of Transylvania. Graham will play Vampirina’s mother Oxana Hauntly, opposite James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek) as her husband Boris.

With upfront season now beginning in earnest, Lifetime has unveiled its upcoming programming slate, which includes a new original movie starring Anjelica Huston and directed by Melissa Joan Hart, a reality series from “So You Think You Can Dance” host Cat Deeley, and the previously announced movie about the water crisis in Flint, Mich., starring Cher.
The network has also set dates for some of its upcoming films: “Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland,” based on the book “Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days” and told through the eyes of Jackson’s body guards, will bow on May 29. “Menendez: Blood Brothers,” about the Menendez brothers, will premiere June 10. Kyra Sedgwick’s directorial debut “Story of a Girl,” based on Sara Zarr’s Ya book of the same name, is set to air July 23.

Casting FX’s “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff, titled “Mayans Mc,” has cast its first star, Variety has confirmed. Edward James Olmos has joined the pilot as a series regular. The “Battlestar Gallactica” alum will play Felipe Reyes, the once-strong Mexican patriarch, crushed by bullets and hard labor, who struggles to keep his past buried and lead his sons down a lawful, righteous path. The pilot, which is slated to shoot next month, focuses on the Mayans motorcycle club and will follow Ez Reyes (yet to be cast), a potential member for the club’s charter on the California-Mexico border. “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter will direct the pilot and serve as executive producer.
