The popular presenter has seen the judging panel go through all sorts of incarnations from Simon Cowell, to Louis Walsh, to Dannii Minogue, to Cheryl Cole to Gary Barlow, but Dermot and his snappy suits have been a constant throughout the series, and so it will remain.
O'Leary said today: "I'm delighted to be returning to The X Factor as I just love the gig. I hope The X Factor 2012 continues to bring a sense of fun to Saturday and Sunday nights and gives the nation a show that they can laugh, cry and sometimes scream at!"

As you may have gleaned, I really like great judges on reality TV. While it takes a primed pro like Ryan Seacrest or Cat Deeley to make sure the entire operation runs smoothly, the judges can elevate the quality of a reality competition from vapidly entertaining to thoroughly compelling. Since the always-dubious Britney Spears is poised to super-officially announce her gig as the new panelist on X Factor, it's time to step up and declare who should really be filling Paula Abdul's shaky shoes. I've got 25 better candidates, ranked and ready for Simon Cowell's consideration.
25. Katy Perry
Sure, she's kitschy and a little shallow, but she's entertainingly goofy and even earnest in interviews. Katy Perry would also be likely to grade the energy and stage presence of contestants, which is always a sorely under-discussed component on these shows.
I worry he'd be even less critical than Adam Levine, »

The Archers has been accused of stereotyping a black character. Better to turn your ire on the reality shows
There's been an awful lot of news of late, hasn't there? Crisis in the eurozone. Unrest in the Middle East. The prospect of drought, swiftly followed by the prospect of flooding. Simon Cowell sleeping with Dannii Minogue. And so it goes on.
But, arguably, the most dramatic news event of recent days has been the emergence of an actual story line on The Archers. Rejoice! Of late, interesting plot developments on the Radio 4 soap have been in rather short supply. Like the supermoon, they tend to be fabled, once-yearly occurrences which prompt a surge in criminality and madness, and cause werewolves to howl.
Ever since the buffoonish Nigel was sent careering off a roof to mark The Archers' 60th anniversary last year, the soap has become a plodding tale of anaerobic digesters, »

Dannii Minogue has hailed Britain's Queen Elizabeth as a 'fashion icon'. The 'Australia's Got Talent' judge admires the way the 86-year-old monarch still makes daring style choices instead of just 'sauntering into fuddy-duddy land'. She said: 'A grandmother several times over, the queen could be forgiven for sauntering into fuddy-duddy land, but instead, she dresses age-appropriately, sticking to colour-blocking suits she knows, and getting it so right. Kelly Rowland has been charming fans overseas for the last year as a judge on the UK’s “The X Factor"; however, her days on the panel are unfortunately over, she just confirmed.
Rowland blamed “scheduling issues” and “global commitments” for her exit from Simon Cowell’s hit. The singer released a statement, saying she was unable to find a “workable solution” after discussing it with the show’s producers for a number of weeks.
“I love the UK and being part of the show last year. Mentoring the girls was such an incredible experience I will never forget. I would like to thank Simon for the great opportunity and asking me to be a judge last season,” Rowland said.
Rowland joined the revamped panel in 2011. Danni Minogue (pop star sister of global megastar Kylie Minogue) – who was a judge on the program from 2007-10 – is already rumored as Rowland’s replacement. »
