Open auditions for the 2013 series of The X Factor begin tomorrow at London's ExCel venue.
Hopeful singers are invited to perform in the capital this weekend, or at several other dates around the country over the next month.
"To be in with a chance of making it through to the UK's most talked-about entertainment show you will need to prepare a verse or chorus of one or more songs a capella," said producers.
"And make sure you turn up early as audition slots are on a first come, first served basis, with slots only guaranteed for people who arrive by 9am."
This year the Liverpool auditions for the singing competition were axed, prompting a response from the city's deputy mayor and former culture spokesman Gary Millar.
Just one person was reported to have signed up for a qualifying round in Colchester last week before another 20 were enticed from the street.

The X Factor has cancelled planned auditions for Liverpool for this year's series.
The Mirror reports that producers are considering Plymouth as a replacement. Though officially the change has been explained as "mixing it up", insiders have said that a lack of talent from the city has made them rethink Liverpool as an audition venue, despite the success of Christopher Maloney in the 2012 series.
The city's deputy mayor and former culture spokesman Gary Millar criticised the move as "nonsense".
He said: "It's ridiculous to say Liverpool doesn't have talent. The last three finalists came from Merseyside.
"Liverpool is the city with 57 number one hits. The history of bands and upcoming venues is second to none. From buskers, to schools, to groups, music is part of Liverpool's heritage. People from all over the world gravitate to Liverpool for our music."
Newcastle has also been axed after featuring last year, leaving the...

A banned painting of Queen Elizabeth II has been put on display for the first time in 61 years. The controversial portrait was banished from Liverpool town hall because it didn't bear a decent likeness to the monarch, with an unusually long neck. Council chiefs ordered the artwork to be hidden away from public view in the vaults. John Napper was commissioned to paint the portrait in 1952 for The Queen's coronation. The painting will now be displayed at Liverpool's St George's Hall to mark its 60th anniversary. The artist described it as "a beautiful painting of a queen, but not this Queen". Liverpool's deputy Lord Mayor Gary Millar, a trustee of the hall, said: "We are very proud that Liverpool now has the original first painting hanging in St George's Hall, which has been rehung to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen's (more)...

A portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth which was rejected for looking nothing like her has gone on permanent display. Artist John Napper was commissioned in 1952 by Liverpool Town Hall to produce a piece of work for the queen's coronation in 1953, but it faced such heavy criticism - including that her neck was 'too long' - it was shelved and the artist was asked to start again. However, St. George's Hall in Liverpool, North West England, have announced they will now permanently showcase the artwork to mark the 60th anniversary since the queen was crowned. Liverpool's deputy Lord Mayor Gary Millar said: 'We are very proud that Liverpool now has the original first painting hanging in St. George's Hall,...
