Wrote the lyrics for the Soviet Union national anthem in 1944. Wrote new lyrics to remove mention of Stalin in 1977. When the music of the USSR anthem was reinstated as the national anthem of Russian Federation in 2000, wrote yet another version of the lyrics (at age 87).
