Golden Globe nominated actress Jane Merrow works on both sides of the Atlantic and has a string of international credits.
After completing her training at RADA, Jane was promptly offered a series of leading roles, including the title role in LORNA DOONE opposite Bill Travers and the starring role in the film THE SYSTEM opposite Oliver Reed. She also enjoyed considerable success starring in the cult horror movies HANDS OF THE RIPPER opposite Eric Porter, NIGHT OF THE BIG HEAT opposite Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, and CARMILLA in which she played the title role.
Jane was a frequent star of many popular screen series including THE SAINT,DANGER MAN, THE PRISONER, THE AVENGERS, UFO, THE BARON, MAN IN A SUITCASE.
Major television drama credits include the role of Julia in 1984 by George Orwell. MORGAN A SUITABLE CASE FOR TREATMENT by David Mercer, and THE BIRTH OF A PRIVATE MAN, and THE WORLD THAT SUMMER by Robert Muller Jane also starred in the ITV series HADLEIGH in an ongoing role opposite Gerald Harper.
Theatre roles included THE KITCHEN by Arnold Wesker at the Royal Court, Raina in ARMS AND THE MAN, Mermaid Theatre London, THE KINGS MARE with Glynis Johns in London West End and COUNTRY DANCE opposite Edward Fox at Hampstead.
These early years culminated in the role of Alais in the film of THE LION IN WINTER co-starring with Peter O'Toole, Katharine Hepburn and Anthony Hopkins, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.
MIDDLE YEARS LA AND UK
Following the success of THE LION IN WINTER and the strong interest in her work there, Jane moved to LA. She starred opposite Beau Bridges and John Mills in ADAMS WOMAN and for the next two decades appeared consistently on screen and on stage. She played leading star guest roles in many popular U.S. shows including: AIRWOLF, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN , MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, HART TO HART, CANNON, MAGNUM PI, MCGYVER, ALIAS SMITH AND JONES, MANNIX starring with Tom Selleck, Buddy Ebsen, William Shatner, Robert Wagner, Leonard Nimoy, Bill Bixby, Lee Majors amongst others.
1974 SEA MARKS played Timothea - Hollywood
1975 Jane co-starred with the Gabor sisters (Zza Zza and Eva) in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE on stage in Chicago.
1986 She also appeared in a one woman play VIVIEN LEIGH, A PORTRAIT at the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta.
BACK IN THE UK
Jane co-starred opposite Ian McShane in the series LOVEJOY, played an ongoing lead role in THE ACCUSED, and also guest starred in SHARPE. At the same time she moved into film development and production.
Jane was Co-executive Producer with Edward Windsor for his Ardent Productions on their production THE CATER STREET HANGMAN from the book by Anne Perry a highly successful drama screened on ITV.

2009 Whilst continuing her acting career, Jane completed a short pilot film planned for Internet distribution BEWARE OF WHAT YOU WISH FOR, in which she appeared, in addition to adapting and producing. Released 2010. (Winner Best Art Direction Barcelona Film Festival)
2011 Jane wrote and produced THE TELL TALE HEART, for the series NEW CHILLING TALES the first American story of the series, filmed in Idaho.
In 2012 Jane adapted, Produced and Starred in THE YELLOW WALLPAPER from the classic short story of the same name by Charlotte Gilman Perkins an early proponent of women's issues. (Official entry Sun Valley Film Festival)
2013/4 Jane adapted and Produced the great short Gothic story : Ambrose Bierce's THE DAMNED THING. (Official Entry Sun Valley Festival)
All 4 films were shown on PBS in the USA.
2015 Jane, wrote and starred in COUGAR a short contemporary film about older women and younger men, a story with a twist. (Winner: Best Short Narrative Idaho Media Professionals, Official Entry: Speechless Film Festival, Minnesota)
In development Jane has a full length feature ACT OF WAR and another unnamed full length feature film.
