Star-studded lineup to help celebrate 50 years of Play School

This year, Australia.s longest running children.s series, Play School, celebrates 50 years on air. To mark the occasion, ABC Kids has enlisted some famous faces to join with Big Ted and Humpty Dumpty to host a special series. Entitled Play School Celebrity Covers, the mini-episodes will feature a lineup of popular Australian personalities, actors and musicians turning their hand to being a Play School presenter, either performing a song or reading a story. Daily episodes will air from July 4 on ABC Kids, as well as on iview. Star of the Molly miniseries issues impassioned plea for science and says he wants to ‘be part of the push to solve cancer once and for all’

Samuel Johnson, the star of Molly, has announced his retirement from acting to focus on cancer research advocacy.

Johnson wrote about his decision in an emotional and intensely political Facebook post on the page of his charitable cancer foundation, Love Your Sister.

Seven unveils new channel 7Flix

Channel Seven has unveiled its new channel, 7Flix, which promises "movies to fall in love with", "big shows that you can't get enough of" and "stories that make you feel great"!

Beginning February 28, 7Flix will feature an assortment of popular TV shows such as Seinfeld, and movie perennials such as Pretty Woman and Love Actually.

Seven's answer to Channel Nine's successful 9Life channel, 7Flix was announced during the broadcast of Molly, the network's Samuel Johnson-starring biopic of Molly Meldrum. »
