Laverne & Shirley: Is Jamie Foxx Writing the Movie or Not?

Garry Marshall recently got some press after talking about a Laverne & Shirley movie, based on his popular sitcom. After hearing that Marshall wanted Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel as stars, we then heard Jamie Foxx was writing the script. Now we hear there's no truth to Foxx's involvement at all.

Laverne & Shirley, a spin-off of Marshall's Happy Days, stars Marshall's sister, Penny Marshall, and Cindy Williams in the iconic roles as two brewery bottle cappers. Each episode begins with one of the most famous opening sequences of all time, with the stars walking down the street reciting, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!" Alongside them are David L. Lander, Michael McKean, Eddie Mekka, Phil Foster, Betty Garrett, and Leslie Easterbrook.

The series ended the season Williams left, although they tried to keep it going without her.

Laverne & Shirley: Garry Marshall Wants Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel

  • TVSeriesFinale
At last night's premiere of his new film, Valentine's Day, director Garry Marshall said that he wants to do a Laverne & Shirley movie starring Jennifer Garner (Alias) and Jessica Biel (7th Heaven).

The Laverne & Shirley sitcom ran for eight seasons on ABC, from 1976 until 1983. The show revolves around a pair of best friends and roommates who work at a local brewery in 1960s Milwaukee. The series stars Penny Marshall, Cindy Williams, David L. Lander, Michael McKean, Eddie Mekka, Phil Foster, Betty Garrett, and Leslie Easterbrook.

A spin-off of the very popular Happy Days series, Laverne & Shirley set a record as being the only series to debut as the most-watched program of the week. It also has the dubious distinction of running a bit too long. Williams abruptly left the show in 1982 so almost 20 episodes of Laverne &

Laverne & Shirley: Roommates Once Again?

"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight! Schlemiel! Schlemazl! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!" It's been almost 25 years since the end of the classic ABC sitcom Laverne & Shirley. The partnership of the wacky ladies ended abruptly in 1982 but now it looks like they're going to be roommates again.

Laverne & Shirley debuted on ABC on January 27, 1976. It was a spin-off of the very popular Happy Days sitcom and both were created by Garry Marshall. The series followed the crazy exploits of Milwaukee brewery employees Laverne De Fazio and Shirley Feeney played by Penny Marshall (Garry's sister) and Cindy Williams. The show also starred Michael McKean, David Lander, Eddie Mekka, Phil Foster and Betty Garrett.

The incredibly popular series ran for seven seasons and even inspired an animated spin-off entitled Laverne and Shirley in the Army (later renamed Laverne and Shirley with the Fonz). In 1982, due to backstage tensions and a real life pregnancy,
