- Why is the critical fraternity so liberal now? It didn't used to be. There used to be very conservative critics and they put out reviews from a specifically moralistic point of view. What's amazing to me was how that entire voice representing that third of America who consider themselves conservative is basically not represented other than by myself in the film-commentary business.
