The title begs the question: Is it truly outrageous? Unequivocally, yes. Diverging in style and structure from the normal Jem and the Holograms issues, the Outrageous Annual takes our characters and delves into their psychology via pop culture mash-ups. This is the “Avenging Angel” of Farscape, the “Changing Channels” of Supernatural, or the “Restless” of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. By allowing the sisters »

Exclusive: Adorable variant cover of new 'Back to the Future' comic series

8 July 2015 9:00 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Set your clocks back to 1982 — that’s where the upcoming “Back to the Future” comic series is taking us. The series, subtitled “Untold Tales and Alternate Timelines” will fill in the blanks of the “Back to the Future” trilogy with stories of characters that fans already know and love. This isn't “Back to the Future Part IV.” The comic's stories will take place before and between the events of the trilogy and in alternate realities. In the first issue, readers will witness the very first meeting of Marty McFly and Doc Brown in 1982. (“Back to the Future” writer-producer Bob Gale has told at least part of this story once before.) First official ‘Jem and the Holograms’ photos are anything but outrageous

11 May 2015 8:24 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

If you grew up in the 80s, chances are you rocked out at least a few times to the “Jem” theme song. You probably even pretended your earrings could transform you from a high-powered businesswoman into an international rock star. If think pieces want to know why late Gen-x/early Millennial women think they can have it all, look no further than this cartoon. Why choose one career when you could have Both? Capitalizing on the nostalgia boom currently in progress, Universal Pictures and Hasbro have teamed up to bring a live-action, updated Jem, Kimber, Aja, and Shana to the big screen. Image Credit: Idw. Cover art by Ross Campbell, Amy Mebberson, and Sara Richard.   Haha, whoops! Just kidding. The above photo is actually from the fantastic new Idw comic by Kelly Thompson and Ross Campbell. These are the actual official photos from Jem’s live-action reboot. Image Credit: Universal »
