Born in Wiarton, Ontario but raised in Kitchener-Waterloo by his mother following his parents' divorce, Trent found acting after being dared to audition for and landing a lead role in his high school's production of 'Grease'. He has since grown to become one of Canada's busiest actors, having appeared in nearly 30 feature and television film projects.
Trent is "Sands" in the intense, critically acclaimed 'Dog Pound', from Frances' film maverick, Kim Chapiron. Trent has starred in the feature films, 'It All Happens Incredibly Fast', where author and film critic, Christopher Heard wrote that Trent has the "presence of a young Mickey Rourke"; 'Last Night', Don McKellar's directing debut and Winner Director's Fortnight, Cannes. Other film roles include 'The Third Eye'. 'Little Blood Brother' and 'Battle Chess'. Trent can be seen in the feature film 'Small Town Murder Songs', starring Peter Stormare, Aaron Poole, Jill Hennessey and Martha Plimpton; the film is written and directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly who in 2011 was named by Variety as one of the top ten directors to watch. 'Tommy Boy' and 'PCU'- Trent's first ever speaking role, was opposite the then upcoming Jeremy Piven.
For two seasons Trent played 'Orrie Cather' on the A&E hit series 'Nero Wolfe', starring Timothy Hutton and Maury Chaykin. Trent has also guest starred on the series' "La Femme Nikita", "WitchBlade", "Veritas", "Wild Card", "Til Death Do Us Part".
Trent's unique, gravelly voice has earned him a spot amongst the most elite voice artists in North America. He is the voice for Animal Planet (Canada), has narrated numerous documentaries for the Discovery Channel, and has voiced nearly a hundred television and radio ads including movie trailers.
Trent lives in Toronto with his cat, 'The Dude' - no relation to 'The Big Lebowski' - "He's just some Dude that showed up one day and never left.", says Trent.
