Killer Content is developing a TV series inspired by the New York Times’ feature “The Displaced,” which tells the stories of three children whose lives have been devastated by war in South Sudan, Syria and the Ukraine.

Killer Content, the parent company of Killer Films, has optioned the TV rights to the Times’ multimedia documentary project that marked the news organization’s first virtual reality film. “The Displaced” was published on Nov. 5, 2015.

Killer is in the process of recruiting a writer to handle the narrative adaptation of the heart-wrenching stories of 9-year-old Chuol, 12-year-old Hana and 11-year-old Oleg. The series is envisioned as picking up where the Times’ film leaves off in depicting the children’s fate as they seek to rebuild their lives. Matt Earl Beesley (“Masters of Sex,” “Lost”) is on board to direct.
