Midnight Snack Productions has announced that science fiction thriller Restoration, starring Craig McLachlan, will premiere on the Nine Network and Stan later this year.

Directed by Stuart Willis and independently produced by Midnight Snack.s Toby Gibson, Restoration is a one-hour film set in a near-future world where humans have their memories downloaded for backup.

It follows the story of a man who awakens with his memories restored into a body that is not his own.

This year, Australia.s longest running children.s series, Play School, celebrates 50 years on air. To mark the occasion, ABC Kids has enlisted some famous faces to join with Big Ted and Humpty Dumpty to host a special series. Entitled Play School Celebrity Covers, the mini-episodes will feature a lineup of popular Australian personalities, actors and musicians turning their hand to being a Play School presenter, either performing a song or reading a story. The ABC has commissioned The Doctor Blake Mysteries.for a fifth series.

Starring Craig McLachlan as police surgeon, Dr Lucien Blake, and Nadine Garner as his devoted housekeeper Jean, The Doctor Blake Mysteries continues to attract a large audience.

ABC Director of Television Richard Finlayson said Series four had been the most successful to date with an average audience of 1.67 million viewers across TV broadcast and iview..

ABC TV has received a record thirty-three nominations — the most of any network — for this year.s Logie Awards, to be held May 8.

Essie Davis, star of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, is in the running for big prize, the Gold Logie.

Davis is also nominated for the Best Actress and Most Outstanding Actress awards.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries star Craig McLachlan is up against Please Like Me's Josh Thomas for the Best Actor award.

Noah Taylor and Orange is the New Black's Yael Stone will star in Sbs.s new four-part crime drama series, Deep Water, produced by Blackfella Films.
